I'll link his Obituary once we get one, so far there's no supporting evidence that he is dead. It is possible that he is still alive, but apparently his mother sent instant messages to people talking to him, that he has passed away.

While we verify that this really did happen, I felt that it was an opportune time to begin this thread, since people deserve to have a place to mourn.

Chris, I hope you are not dead. I really do. You're a true friend, and a very cool person. You meant a lot to many of us at Bluelight, and your death will not go unnoticed, nor forgotten.

I wish that you find peace in your life so that your soul may move on. It's a tragedy I never got to meet you in real life. Maybe we will meet in another realm of existence. <3
 
I think he sent me the last messages on AIM. I believe the fatal cocktail was the following message:

400mg Barbituates
150mg DXM

I really wish I told him to take Dexedrine. I'm so sorry Cloud_9.
 
He mentioned that he has a rare liver enzyme that allowed him to experience DXM stronger and makes opiates weaker. I assume the caffeine was what he wanted to keep him alive from all the barbituates and opiates, but it wasn't strong enough I suppose.

I just had a long talk with Chris' mother. Yes, he has passed away. The obituary will be posted by Monday, and his funeral is on Wednesday.

I am incredibly saddened to tell you all that this is not a hoax, and Chris actually did pass away. I don't want to share too many details about this, because it saddens me to even share with you all that he is dead. I also feel that he has a right to privacy to some extent.

If his mother would like to share a few words with you all regarding the circumstances of this tragedy, she will when she is ready. We aren't completely aware of all the facts yet, and we're still waiting to piece it together. His mother wanted to share with all of us that she knew we were an important part of his life, and that she wanted me and all of his online friends to know.

I am mostly sure he did not intend for this to happen (as far as I am aware, it doesn't seem as if he killed himself, I would consider this to be an accidental overdose). Obviously this is just speculation on my part.

By the way...caffeine is often combined with barbiturates like butalbital. Fioricet is probably the exact formulation if I'm not mistaken.

Um...no? You can do amphetamines and DXM together. You would probably want to do the DXM before the amphetamine so it can lower your tolerance though.

He would not have died by just taking DXM and amphetamine.

He could take a dose of opiates that would have killed me, and he wouldn't even get high on it. I don't see why you would say something so blatantly incorrect like combining DXM and dexedrine is for sure going to kill people....

It's important to note that a recreational dose of DXM isn't advised by itself, and definitely not on top of amphetamine. I was referring to a therapeutic, normal dose of DXM, and not many hundreds of milligrams of it.

if he took that amount of methadone he'd be dead....... half he'd still be dead. why whould someone take such a reckless dose of done unless he was trying to kill himself. if it was accidental and he frequented this site he should have done a little more research, on the other hand its always sad when someone dies and i prey for his family though the dark times that may follow

You cant beat yourself up over it Depressica, It is not your fault. In all likely hood he would have passed form this combination with or with out the stims.

if you were gonna tell him to do anything it should have been to call an ambulance. Caffeine or even Dexedrine are not replacements for medical assistance in a potential overdose. I think this could serve as a valuable point of reference for any one else who over does it and doesn't know if they should do an opposing drug to try to "sober up" or if they should call EMTs.

If thats true, over 1,000mg's of methadone seems like a huge dose, and in combination with the other stuff. The human body can do amazing things though, and it can adapt to huge doses of any narcotic. I dont know, he may have handled that dose before but just couldnt for some reason this particular time.
 
RIP Cloud 9. When you asked me to be your bluelight friend, I said ok because, from the few PM we had together, I knew you were a good person, full of kindness and sensitivity.
This day is a sad day for me and for bluelight, you were only 21 years old...

Holy shit. This is surprising. He had IMed me a couple days ago as I was signing off talking about being in Mexico or something. I didn't have time to talk to him since I was leaving.

He was a great guy and will be missed :(

Where did you get that awful misinformation? I really want to know.

Anyways the amount of methadone he said he did is impossible, since his mother told me that he doesn't have that much. Tomorrow we'll know what happened, probably something like CNS death due to excessive barbiturate and opiate use.
