This is not an argument i wish to have because we all are secure in our beliefs and they are unwavering for most of us. I am glad a law abiding citizen has the right to buy and use a gun for self defense. I am glad few Americans support restricting the right to self defense with a gun.
I love to go to the range and shoot. Just a .22 for me, bigger guns make me nervous.
just hypothetically speaking, if guns were illegal how would we manage wild life preservation? bow and arrow/traps can work but hunting license consumption would have to increase by like 2000%
or should we just have the national guard go town to town with a mandatory body count? i'm being silly and i'm sure it can be done without citizens with fire arms but i'm sure lots of anti gun people don't consider the legitimacy of animal over population
white tail deer are a serious problem specially in the north east and from what i've read parts of the southwest are infested with wild boars. it's gotten so bad that there isn't even a limit to how many you can kill (the most deer a hunter can kill is usually 3 per year)
it makes perfect sense why metro NYC is extremely strict with gun laws, i hate to sound condescending but the countries total square mileage consists of many large/diverse regions...the government can really benefit from delegating more power to the states, let people relocate to where the rules fit their lifestyle
i honestly don't care about guns, i don't want one, but i know i'd rather be shot and killed than brutally stabbed or beaten to death by a blunt object
99% of violence occurs when an individual involuntarily has a psychological meltdown over 1 of 2 things: economics and/or emotion
there's no solution to ending desperate poverty folk from committing predatory crimes for survival
and the gradual accumulation of stress, anxiety and pain will continue to trigger acute maniacal rage and destruction will continue to occur, there's a potentially lethal weapon within pretty much everyone's reach at all times
fear: the tortuously consuming mechanism/process that i dream of society effectively managing one day
fear is nearly impossible to elude, but people(nobody specific) need to start admitting they either get a rush/fill an empty void through the fear they CHOOSE to generate and beg they get help before it's too late
