"Revived my dead azz"

So overdosed on oxycontin
managed to let down one hundred of my closest friends
over trying to get high
trying to play it safe by taking half
-didn’t work for me-
blacking out
and having a seizure & respiratory arrest
not fun if it’s real
my kids who for a lack of better words
-revived my dead azz-
suddenly put their life on hold
to care for another human being
and although I’m alright now
and can live to see another day,
I question myself
“How close did I really come?”
now I’m sitting here the day after
in a psychological daze
skipping the holiday activities and thinking a lot
thinking too much
and thinking about my future
the same future I’ve been destroying these past few years
cuz’ I was trying to get high
I dunno if I can get high on anything anymore
I don’t like being clinically classified as “dead”
Not around my friends
And not in favor of my future
