Reverse placebo effect

I've noticed that just like the classic placebo effect, there seems to be a "reverse placebo effect" as well, except it works to make you think you are less high. I believe that once the first thought that you might be coming down passes through your head, you actually begin to think of yourself as less high. In turn, you begin to come down.

I realize that it's possible that this is just due to the natural acknowledgement that your high is wearing off; however, if a high really is more mental than physical like people say, this theory might be valid.

Has anyone else noticed this?

This has been observed in medicine as the Nocebo effect. So yea the theory is valid.

^ What do you google if you do not know the name of what you are looking for? :D

I dunno about new terminology or odd studies, but in the classic psychological data analysis I've been taught, a reserve placebo effect is a significant effect/change in the subject, lol. Looks like I learned some new terminological information Budisti!

This definitely sounds like a familiar scenario to me, i'm guessing the thought process may remove any current placebo effect but surely it can't actually counteract any physical effects?
So it would only work if you had some level of placebo to begin with that could be negated..
