Hello people,
I decided to get clean a couple of months ago. Beginning at methadone 90mg daily, I reduced by 10mg weekly, then switched from 30mg methadone to 4mg bupe. After one week on 4mg I went down to 2mg bupe which is where I am at presently.
Last night was one of the worst experiences of my life. I got into bed very tired at 10pm and did not sleep until after 6am. I had terribly restless legs, such that I could not lie or sit for even one minute without needing to move or shake my legs. Anyone who has done withdrawal (acute or protracted like I am) will know the depths of fear, anxiety and total exasperation to which it is possible to sink when deprived of that most basic need, sleep. I became so enraged and upset last night that it is difficult to express.
It is unacceptable to me to take any opiates to help with sleep. So my question is this; whether anyone has experienced this problem or knows of any helpful remedies for it? When I slept at long last, it was only after reluctantly taking seroquel (quetiapine). Thank you so much.
