Rest In Peace Bill (thanks to all bluelighters for their support)

I have never met Bill but as soon as I saw his photo I recognised him as someone fun to be around.
A lot of things said on blue light regarding saftey is all about things you can do yourself, for yourself. After reading this I realised I could be doing more for my friends.
Look out for eachother, Tell your friends what you are having in case somehting happens. Dont be alone, in the case of Bill he was straight. He was only 500 meters away from the dancefloor. Dont go wandering by yourself unless there are other people around, even strangers are better than noone. Even if you are in a club in the city, make sure someone is with you if you leave (or at least knows you have left). This sort of thing could have happened even on a normal camping trip.
I hope he left on happy terms with everyone that knew him.
*edit* oops... read that thread on bush doof safey as well...

having never met the man, when i first opened this thread his name rung the bell of one of the funniest and most characteristic among those who post on bluelight.
a pat on the pack to those who were involved in his search party, nobody is loyal to someone unworthy.

I have many a fond memory of u and ur antics - and i will treasure those forever......
My deepest sympathy goes out to all his loved ones....
Bill was a one-in-a-million person - incredibly infectious - how could u not enjoy his company and smile when he was around.........
Rest In peace dear ~bill

A little short of two years ago was my very first encounter with Bill.... he set my neurons off, into a continuous stream of thoughts on the (before) seemingly bland topic of 'rhetorical questions'. ... I became a sponge, wanting to take in more and more of these rare, creative and ingenious ideas of Bill's.
Will miss your incandescent smile, your hugs and big kisses.
Sending out much love and my condolences to his close friends and family.

...like many who've posted I don't know Bill either...I'm a friend of Ange and Chris...just know that Bill and all of you are being thought of on this side of world...look after each other now

Bill was one of the most enthusiastic, warm and welcoming people I have had the honour of befriending. He was incredibly funny, generous, wise and hardworking. Life will not be the same without him, and he will be sorely missed.
This thread is a testament to Bill's undying impact on our lives, but cannot possibly do him justice.
Thankyou for always being yourself Bill; you will not be forgotten.
*waves goodbye*
xoxo
RIP

Up in the ether there is a party of sorts,
Where the music never stops,
Where the dancing is art in its motion.
Where love is infinite and free.
There will be a place for us
And he will be there,
Waiting,
To lead us in the dance again.
Rest in Peace Bill...

At the turning points I have chosen the self-examined life, I didn’t turn back. I love you dearly, thank you.
My memorial will be to kick ass in life. Our unmitigated repeat silliness will continue.
God Bless.

can i suggest somebody compose a tribute to bill for the opening page on bluelight?
as said above, this thread cannot possibly do him justice, nor could anything on the internet, however an opening tribute page is a far more personalised memorial.

The first I ever heard of Bill was a funny story told to me by my sister Pekkie. She went to Ganesha with Soma and Bill, sometime around the Sydney Olympics.Bill said there should be an Olympics for Undercover Police(but NO,this wasn't possible because you couldn't show their faces on tv!)
This is just one of many funny little things that has come from Bill's mouth :) Everytime I heard someone talking about Bill I would always repeat this story!
I am glad I had the pleasure to encounter someone like Bill in my lifetime :) Everytime I saw him, he brought a smile to my face.Almost everytime I went out, Bill would be there or if I hadn't seen him, I'd hear from someone that Bill was there and I would go on a mission to find him and get a hug and see his beaming face :)
There are so many things I could say but there isn't any need.Since my first encounter with Bill, I always talk about him and will continue to do so.
RIP Bill.

I did not know bill well enough to say we were friend, merly acquaintences.
But with a person like him, this is all you have to be to see the love in his eyes. Bill to me was the quintessence of PLUR. I have never seen anybody so consistantly enjoying themselves.
I had a few small, but very real connections with the man, and it's seems it's all i needed to have a feeling of, well, that i'll miss him.
When Funky told me, one thing stuck out in my mind, all of you who knew him well.
Quote - 'I know one thing, Bill would have told everyone to celebrate his memory, rather than mourn his loss.'
He would like, i think, for us to go out and party, and spare a thought, and crack a smile, and reminisce and laugh at the memory of Bill.
I certainly will; he always did bring a smile to my face, and forever will.

Bill I hope all your questions are now finally answered. To the great adventure you go first. The wonderful memories that people have of you and the impact you made on the lives of many will ensure your imortality RIP
