I think it's something to do with religion.

That'd be it. Was loooking for both rhymes and reasons in the same ol' sandpit again. Sillybilly I am. Wonder if they haven't just tried gathering round the campfire and settling the whole dispute over a rousing chorus of Kumbaya? Should do the trick. Only so much sand and camelshit in the world so seems silly to spoil the sandunes because the neighbours got their sandals and their scandals in a twist again. Tsk-tsk There may be tears before bedtime at this rate.

Just sand I say. And camelshit. But mostly sand.

I think it's telling that a place with so much religion is so violent.

Because you'd think if there was anything to that message of peace and love that most of the religions claim to preach, they really could all just sit around singing hymns together, wouldn't you?
