i think the cocaine thing is different. you awnt to seperate THC from tar or pipe goo, right? thats nothing like making crack.

i suggest you research supercritical fluid extraction, solvent extraction and freebasing.
 
well i was jus wondering doesnt seem impossible to seperate the oil from ash and other shit but i just scrape the pipes and toss it most of time tastes like crap. and lastly making crack dillutes cocaine base purifies only similarity both make a smokable form of cocaine just thought it might be similar
 
whoops. i thought freebasing cocaine made it "crack." didnt realize there was a way to do it that diluted your stuff.

if you smoke alot off good weed in your peice, smoking the resin might get you a buzz if your tolerance is down. but its gross and probably very unhealthy.

the reason i say its impossible to remove the oil from tar is that they would both dissolve in a solvent. youd probably have to do some sort of A/B extraction, but now im talking out my ass, lol.
 
you can bloi it andall the shit mixed with it turns the water a nasty dark brown tht really stinks n i mean realllly badly stinks, u end up with a fine light powder, not worth it in the end tho tbh
 
yeah - it's not that you can't . . it just wouldn't be worth it. if you're going to smoke the resin, just smoke it . . any "purification" process would just be putting a lot of effort into making something crappy into something else that's still pretty crappy (this has also been my experience with vaporizer remains).
 
agreed, not worth it but if you do want to get the most of your resin just smoke iton top of weed, i personally like the effect. mind you, i never seem to build a tolerance to the shit...
 
well thanks anyways just a random question. resin would be awesome if you could make it taste better it fucks you up but after a few hits i have to brush my teeth to get rid of the taste
 
idk how you guys don't get high from your resin.....i've been smoking for 2 and a half years and for a year and a half i've been smoking daily...about 3-5 times a day and i get high whenever i make a resinball.....i just hold the smoke in till im about to pass out
 
The best way to purify resin is to crush it up in near boiling water and mix around for 10 mins. Then decant all the water and save whatever is left behind. It would also be a good idea to wash the powder in a variety of solvents that THC is soluble in and discard all the crap that is left over from the washes. ISO alcohol would be a good start, followed by hexane or a similar solvent. Of course this is a lot of effort but if one wants a pure smoke...

Haha, exactly.

OP: If I am understanding you correctly through this opiate haze I am currently in, the only advice I can give you is to not smoke pipe resin. Just not worth it man :\

Pipe resin - NO! I am seriously embarrassed by the amount of resin I have smoked. About 2 years ago when $$ was tight I did it ALL the fucking time...it's gotta be worse for your body/lungs than cigs, herb, and sucking on a tailpipe all put together.

I was hackin up BLACK shit while doing that...just disgusting. While it does get you a little hi if you are fiendin, and I'm sure any true pothead has done it at least once or twice, it feels dirty as fuck and just not worth it in most peoples opinion.
 
At first I thought you were talking about purifying hashish as finger hash and dry sift and such as technically resin.

The stuff you're getting out of your pipe after you smoked has been chemically changed due to the combustion. I'm sure there is some ash mixed in but assuming you're tapping that out there isn't a ton. The ash is actually pretty inert, it's the other stuff that smells foul. While water extraction removes a lot of the smell from cannabis when making hash the same wouldn't happen to your residue as I doubt you could work out a filtration system no matter what size micron screen you used.
 
I smoke resin all the time. Weed is better but whats a better scenario. Having no weed but resin and not getting high or having no weed but resin and getting high?
 
Resin is resin no matter what you do to it. Personally I'd just wait till the weed man was good again or wait till I had the flow to buy a bag then go through a bunch of steps for what will still be resin.
