How about isopropanol? I've heard of skid row types doing "research" by drinking isopropanol antifreeze, effects are said to be similar to ethanol at considerably lower doses.
I'm pretty sure isopropanol is just toxic.

It metabolizes to acetone, so... bad idea. I remember staysedated did a report on it somewhere on here. He said it was a bit more potent than ethanol, but he had the worst hangover.
Most of the ones I listed are oxidized and glucoronidated so there are no toxic metabolites.

They may not have any toxic metabolites but im fairly certain most of them, if not all are pretty inherently toxic.

Perhaps but ethanol is inherently toxic too and has toxic metabolites (like acetone), which is why I didn't have an issue recommending isopropanol as a replacement. The good part about ethanol is the millenia of human research done on it so we have a pretty good idea how toxic it is.

Which is why people should stay away from alcohols as a whole, they are toxic, non-selective, and have low affinity and low potency per mg.
