Report: CIA Spiked Town´s Bread With LSD Causing Mass Insanity

^no no no, you've got it all mixed up, the CIA BUYS cocaine from poor countries, then SELLS it to poor minority crack dealers in the US =p
 
there must be some detailed medical reports left over from the period, there are distinguishing factors btw ergotism and LSD intoxication - most importantly the malignant vasoconstriction which would be observed in people who took high enough doses of the natural ergot alkaloids to produce the frank LSD-like hallucinations described. i suppose there is not enough evidence readily available to make an informed decision but said investigative journalist could probs come to a semi-conclusive answer by looking at medical records. if the CIA released LSD into the new york subway system why is it surprising that they would 'dose' some people in some small french town?

this has been discussed over on Derek Lowes blog pipeline at corante. the evidence it was LSD is very very weak, the symptoms were pretty much what would be expected from ordinary ergot poisoning, the journalist was working backwards from a conclusion so was not interested in finding the truth.
