hi,
this is gonna be my first post on blue light after reading many many pages here,
over a long time. but now i got a question which i couldn't answer by using the forum or the rest of the internet
. some time ago i got some selfmade methcath stuff from a friend of mine.
he told me that he used too much hydrochloric acid during the process. well, and the smell of it was like that, too: HCl
The crystals are a little bit brown and don't seem to dry out properly also but the colour isn't my problem. Now... how can I remove the damned acid without destroying the cath? My idea is to dissolve the cat in distilled water and add some sodium hydrogen carbonate to neutralize the acid. after that i would boil down the whole mixture again. would that work? or would it possible destroy or damage the cath?
thanks!
