Hi guys,
I'm trying to find out some stuff about a couple of my "friends" favourite substances, basically how long they remain in the body.
I know heroin is removed from the body quite rapidly whereas cannabis takes a longer time..
How long does it take for the body to remove all trace (metabolites etc) of A. Heroin and B. Cannabis? for an average person who uses every other day, I know that the drug is gone fairly soon but the metabolites stay a bit longer, I've always wondered how long 100% removal takes for each of those drugs?
Thanks in advance, I look forward to hearing your views :-)

This is borderlining a drug testing question which aren't allowed, but you worded it so well, it's hard to tell.
I'll let a mod decide lol.

I think it depends on the person, the first time I went into a rehab, they did a blood test drug test and I was shocked they were able to find drugs I did 5+ yrs prior!!! Im not sure how blood can retain traces of drugs for this long, but I guess it does.

That's totally ridiculous. I'm not sure if you're lying or exaggerating or if they were outright lying to your face or if it was a false positive, but no way can blood retain a metabolite for one year, let alone FIVE.

Im not lying, that is strange, I remember this rehab had a printout and had all the drugs I had tested positive for...and I know a couple of them, I had not done in close to 5 yrs...Youve sparked my curiousity about this now though, If they cant find drugs after this time, Im wondering why they would tell me they could? Maybe they were just guessing what drugs I had used in the past to make me more likely to admit it...IDK, thats the only thing I can think of..(shrugs?)

I believe Djslim20 already responded his own question.
Longer for the one he thinks so and very short for the other one.

This is a drug testing q.

No way can anything be detected after five years in blood. Three months most using hair, and not blood.

It's not a drug testing question I promise, I've been reading up on why some drugs take longer than others and by what processes the body uses to break the drug down etc, how long it takes and why.
I tried searching google etc but the only info I could find was very basic so wanted to try and find out a bit more..

P.s. I find the 5 years very hard to believe, most of the cells in the body have replaced themselves in much less time than that so It wouldn't be about..
Maybe your hair would tell a story after 5 years but not blood.. If you were to need a test you'd fail every time even after years of not using lol

Anyways it's not about drug testing it's about the body v's the drugs :-)

Does anyone know why the metabolites take longer to break down or are they the leftover "product" after the bodys done its work?

Thanks for your replies :)

P.s. Why are drug testing questions not allowed?

P.s. Why are drug testing questions not allowed?

Because they're against the BLUA.
Double posting is also not allowed. Which is what you did.. been here since 2013 huh? obviously not paying attention for that long.
Welcome to bluelight by the way.. just realized you're an "old" greenlighter.
What kept you from getting to 50 posts in the year and a half you've been here?

It wasn't a double post I was explaining why I asked the question!
The reason I haven't got 50 posts is I've been clean for a while and been avoiding anything to do with drugs.
Sorry if I've broken the rules, just had a read of those rules and I'll be sure to be more careful in the future, If the mods want to remove the post feel free...

Congrats on getting clean, not an easy task.

If you need help around the site just ask someone who is a "BL Ambassador" or a Moderator.. I was an Ambassador but got the title taken away but still act as one most of the time so you can ask me also.

But i'd just drop this whole topic cuz as i said in the 1st post.. it is borderline a drug testing question even worded as well as you did it.

EDIT:
And BTW yes it was a double post.. a post followed by another post from the same user is a "double post" you could have used the "edit" button and added it to the post before making a second one, honestly i dont care.. just helping you get used to the site.
Like i said if you have any questions, dont hesitate to ask, either in NMI or by PMing someone who could assist you.
All good bro..
..and this is where i leave this thread.

(see just edited this into my first part of the post that ended with my sig "-HOOD" )

This is a drug testing related thread obviously, please check out the Drug Testing Forum in Basic Drug Discussion. It's a closed forum but every single question you and everyone else ask about half lives and excretion of illicit compounds, all of your questions have been answered in that forum so check it out, this forum does not allow the discussion of how to circumvent drug testing.

If you still can't find the answer to your questions, a search engine like Google can easily reveal the information you seek, FWIW.
