What do we think about this? I have tons of tools to help me with kicking but the Eszopiclone seems to only work for a short time and remeron seems to keep my overall anxiety lower… what do we think?

I've taken it in the past for sleep and I remember it seemingly helped me get better sleep and as a plus made me super hungry before bed, giving me some crazy munchies which helped my skinny ass gain some weight. I can't see it helping with withdrawal much aside from possibly helping you get a few winks of sleep.

I have seen only few reports of it alleviating any opi WDs but none about it making WDs worse. I have seen one report of it making some benzo WDs worse, tho'.

Mirtazapine decreases diarrhea and nausea and I personally think sweating too, but I have not been able to measure the last quality in any reliable way. If it helps your anxiety too, it is probably best to do mirt for a while, but it can induce withdrawals of it own after few weeks of administration. It also has some annoying cognitive side effects, after I have done it for like a week I suddenly notice how I start to forget stuff constantly. It also takes god damn week for the cognitive side effects to fade because of crazy-ass 30 hours half-life!

It can be helpful for sleep but beyond that I wouldn’t expect much. I was in a trial for it in early 2000s and hated it - made me depressed, tired, and gain weight (just pure fat) crazy fast, despite running daily & eating a low carb diet. GABAergic drugs are superior like benzos, gabapentin, and pregabalin. And ofc clonidine, though I have not used this myself having borderline low blood pressure.

When i was 'addicted' to Kratom i was prescribed Mirtazepine.
The '', meaning i couldn t take Kratom for NO longer then a certain time.
Like i couldn t increase my dose either beyond, lets assume 20 gr.
The effects in both cases led to depression lethargy nausea.

Forcing me to taper and have a vacation. During Mirtazepine,
was great for its anti-emetic effect s and appetite.
Noticed some anti-anxiety effect too, very little but.

In WD it also aided in getting some shut eye, but i rarely CT-ed.
Always tapered my Kratom over a week, and used only pure powdered Leaf.
What do you use, which ammount ? I averaged 15 gr daily sometimes more.

mirtazapine has a lot of different pharmacological targets that render it much more effective sleep aid than selective h1-antagonists, EXCEPT if pro-adrenergic function via alpha-2-adrenergic receptor antagonism is so remarkable it nullifies knockout effect, which can actually happen, I have read some reports of people telling that mirtazapine actually decreases amount of sleep they get. But for most people no hydroxyzine or similar drug is as effective as mirtazapine.

When I was on it, I felt like I was always sleeping and always tired, but I never actually got any quality sleep.

I've used mirtazapine for sleep and it worked pretty well for that. Oddly enough, low doses are best for sleep. Higher doses tend to interfere with sleep patterns.
15 mg causes in average 80 % occupancy in h1-receptors but ceiling for pro-adrenergic effect I described is much higher.
