Come on people. Have you ever smoked pure crystal THC? It's SUPER FUCKING POTENT. It's MORE POTENT than the best Matanuska Thunderfuck by a fucking mile. Why? Rate of absorption. Smoking pure THC is completely different than smoking weed, just like smoking pure synthetic cannabinoids is also very different.
If you smoke any of these synthetic cannabinoids soaked into some leaves, you simply won't get as potent action as you get from smoking pure synthetic cannabinoid powder. You won't get as potent action smoking Thunderfuck as you get smoking pure THC crystals, either.
Now if I gave you grams and grams of pure THC and you smoked it like you smoke the synthetics, you will have bad ass withdrawals! Maybe not quite as bad as withdrawals from a full agonist, but the real point here is that you have lots of cheap, highly potent drugs, lay off that shit.
The negative reactions that people have to overdoses of synthetics have parallels with pure THC. Try it and find out for yourself. This is all a matter of rate of absorption combined cheap, ubiquitous chemicals which can fully activate our cannabinoid receptors. People clearly aren't ready for this crazy ass shit.

Neither have you, because THC does not form a crystal structure. It is a viscous oil.

Dear Roger&Me, I'm not simply spouting off a theoretical basis. There exists a crystallized, highly purified extract of cannabis. The first come up feels like you are coming on mushrooms. THC does not form a crystal structure? Something does. The crystals all had a hint of green, a slight tint, and get you incredibly stoned.
Going through 2 to 10 grams of most any pure drug in a week will emphasize poisonous aspects. This stuff is to cheap and easy to consume compared to even cannabis, which you'd at least have to purify to make as potent. I'm not saying the synthetics _aren't_ less safe/more sketchy than THC. I suspect they are like everyone else. I am suggesting much of the reason for this is simply the pure potency of these new compounds, not any intrinsic danger of the compounds themselves. But once you start using them this way, the difference between synthetics and naturals (which is safer under heavy use?) is debatable and we all accept the idea that synthetics are going to be worse, because it seems that way. But if you want to count apples to apples you need to compare to a purified extract, not pot, or even very strong pot. Or compare smoking pot to smoking herbals laced with synthetics. The rate of absorption makes a big difference.

While I'm at it, I've never had a THC oil that was nearly as potent as these crystals. I think the oils have a number of different cannabinoids and they are in my experience much closer to strong pot than pure extract.
I used to find THC and pot incredibly addictive. The most WD I ever get from synthetics is maybe a few days of unpleasantness and then i'm normal again. I have no doubt that if I ran into Spice instead of Pot 10 to 15 years ago, I would have been much more addicted to the synthetic.
While I'm at it, I don't see the attraction to most of the synthetics. All these indole methanone things. The ones that are more THC-like and fat-soluble like CP47497 are the only really good ones. When CP47497 was still legal, I did find myself on the shitty end of the stick for a while. Blends and synthetics with classical and non-classical (but still cannabis-like) cannabinoids are fucking 10x better than this new crap. And what about the guy with his terpenes?
I'm not really ADD material - except insofar as I might represent a guinea pig with longer and deeper experience than most, but could you explain to me Bolinas why smoking large amounts of very high quality honey oil would be substantially different from vaporizing your "crystal thc" (......cough...old term for pcp...cough..)??
I understand that even in very refined and high THC oil other cannabinoids would be present to some degree that would have a moderating influence on the THC, but why would your putative 'crystal thc addiction' produce such a dramatic gaba like WD syndrome while people can vaporize equal amounts of thc via high quality oil and have been doing so to excess since the late 60s without suffering any significant WD at all?
Even smoked diluted on carriers at much lower doses these full agonists seem to induce a more compulsive pattern of use than cannabis and experienced cannabis users rapidly pick up on some fundamentally different aspects to the craving and side effects. It's not the same drug at all...dilute or pure.
Crystal THC, a term for PCP? heh. No, it was really THC. This was about 10 years ago, before the synthetics were available AFAIK.
Did your THC oil that didn't produce significant WD ever feel like you were getting WAY TO FUCKING HIGH right after you smoked it? To the point where you felt like you were taking mushrooms instead of smoking pot, only for it to mellow out in about 15 minutes? I've never had a THC oil act anything close to this.
I don't know what the technical difference is here but it's comparable to smoking, say, DMT. Not in effect, just in mode - you smoke DMT and space it over 60 seconds (like hash oil) and you don't get nearly as high as if you take the whole hit of DMT in 5 or 10 seconds. In fact, they are two completely different experiences.
I don't think it's the same drug at all, either. The methanone synthetics suck. The good stuff is the thc-like classical and non-classical cannabinoids. A hit of pure CP47497 is comparable to the THC crystals I speak of. The side effects are closer to THC, including WD symptoms.
Something to keep in mind here - the methanone synthetics are not fat soluble. They leave your body fairly quickly which must help to drive some of the re-dose compulsion. All you can get from them is a strong high from the bulk of the agonist in your blood, there is no lingering, residual effect that we're used to from all the fat-soluble cannabinoids. CP47497 and CP55940 are fat soluble. I've found if you smoke them like JWH-018 or whatever, you are in for some shit. Smoke 500mg of CP47497 in a few days? Stay in bed, dude.

It's enitrely possible the mystical "crystal thc" you have is just acid-isomerized hash oil (high thc/cbn, v.low cbd) or hash oil treated with synth-cannabinoids, or even some crude synthetic cannabinoid itself. The Pfizer deveolped pseudocannabinoids (CP47497 etc) were known products back then I believe.
THC is a waxy clear to yellowish resin that melts easily at r.t. It doesn't form crystals and they are sure as shit not green. The green color actually leads me to suggest that its a crude plant-based extract... alcohol recrystallization of crude THC oil maybe?
Or was it "budder"/"earwax" type stuff? Solid waxy pseudocrystalline material, ranging in color from light yellow to green-brown, produced from butane extraction of cannabis trimmings. Gets you higher than hell.
Believe it or not, cannabis withdrawal syndrome is a thing that happens, it's just downplayed quite a lot because you need to intake large daily doses of cannabinoids for it to develop. Try smoking multiple grams a day of potent hash oil/20% thc marijuana and you'll feel like shit when you stop.

For me it was .4-1.2 of Dank per day for about two years and stopping was horrendous; and I was on psychiatric medications. I can't imagine coming off a habit like this.
That said it was only really bad for a week.

Dear Roger&Me, I'm not simply spouting off a theoretical basis.
THC does not form a crystal structure, it cannot form a crystal structure because it is too non-polar. This is a WELL KNOWN FACT. Furthermore, anyone with experience synthesizing organic compounds would be able to look at THC's structure and tell you its an oil in a second.

This was good info here I didn't really know people were gettin hooked on these rc canabs. Like they are. I hope anyone starting a habit with these substances should know what a bad consequence will be to come from it.
