Rehydrating and storing dry weed

Hi Guys,

Someone I know has an ounce of really dry weed, its brittle. They store it in a plastic jar with a rubber sealed clip locked lid so its air tight in a cool dark place. Given how dry it is, is that ok enough storage? Or would leaving the jar lid open and having a bowl of water beside it in a cupboard rehydrate the weed by the increased humidity so they can possibly store it longer. They don't smoke much and would like it to last several months.

Cheers

Dry weed isnt bad as long as it is cured and dries properly. Ive mant times had weed that was perfect as you could grind it with your fingers crystals and all. What type of bud are we talking about though?

I don't see how hydrating it to store it is advantageous, I would imagine that the drier it is the better it will store. If it's too dry for your friend's taste when he comes to smoke it, he can just moisten up a couple of grams at a time with bread or fruit peel or whatever.

Thanks for getting back so quick

It is very good quality bud. no idea of the strain but it would do well in pot or not, like a
score. Just don't want it getting that dry it gets harsh.

Will keep as is and just do as needed if needed.

Thanks

Dry weed is the best IMO, its easy to break up, I've gotten shit that was like all stringy and dried improperly, still had a bit of moistness to it I guess. A bit of moisture is alright though, makes it burn pretty good.

I like it to be SLIGHTLY moister than bone dry - I usually achieve this by dipping my finger in water and running it round the rim of my glass jar everytime I open it - this allows the moisture to be replaced everytime you open the jar up.

Also - putting a fan leaf in for a day or so works wonders.

I store my stash dry - but I don't like to smoke it that way unless it's with a bong.

What I do is put a few smaller dry flowers in a small zippered bag, toss in like 2-6 drops of water (it really, really doesn't take much to rehydrate a bag), then let it sit overnight so moisture is distributed evenly through the flowers. If after that it's still too dry I do it again. It's always a better idea to use less water than you think you need - once it gets wet you'd better use it quick before it molds.

I like my flowers to be slightly spongy when you squish them. In my opinion, slightly moist herb is smoother, less harsh, more flavorful, and lasts longer when you're passing the bowl around.

Yeah dude ^ totally agree - I like it this way for jays and blunts and bongs...coz it burns slower (for the first 2).

Can't be spongy though - has to feel just less than bone dry - just right ;) mmm I want some weed now... lol

Yeah no. Don't store water with it. I wouldn't recommend putting ANY amount of water into your weed. If you do not want to smoke your weed bone dry then smoke it before it's dehydrated. Do not even add drops of water. Any amount of water added adds risk of bacterial or fungal growth. You are not doing yourself any favors.

The real answer to smoking dry weed is hydrating the air that you are breathing when you are smoking. This can best be achieved by smoking through water. A bong or bubbler would do you right. If it is especially harsh, put warm water in the bong and you will get a humid easy on the lungs draw. The other good option is using a vaporizer. How hydrated your weed is in a vaporizer shouldn't really be important unless it inhibits grinding it up finely.
