Alright so to preface, SWIM has smoked weed very heavily (at least 1g daily, up to as much as they could get their hands on) essentially daily for about 5 years now. For about the last 4 years weed has been such a center piece and enjoyable part of his life, anxiety could always be quelled by smoking even a little, and marijuana was always just a relaxing, enjoyable part of life. However, as of recently (about 2 weeks now) SWIM has just been having an awful time smoking weed, high anxiety ( kinda paradoxical huh?, SWIM understands pot can cause anxiety but it used to cure it), and awful heart rhythms and increases with use, even one bong hit would cause a heart rate usually over 110-120 which would NEVER happen. SWIM believes certain events may have contributed but is also open to advice/insight. SWIM recently (2-3 months) developed a fierce heroin addiction and was suffering from a deep suicidal depression for about 8 months (which is done, SWIM IS NOT SUICIDAL NOW). Anyways, as said about 2 weeks ago SWIM finished inpatient where he was on a large cocktail of meds which are as follows: Nuerontin, Seroquel, Naltrexone, Desipramine, Promethazine and Zanaflex. As well, inpatient was a very stressful week of SWIM's life and contained many awful moments. SWIM now is currently not taking any meds except GABA supplements. SWIM also understands that Tricyclic anti-depressants (Desipramine) and weed DO NOT MIX. Anyways, short story/question is does blue light believe that rehab/the events of it/the medications SWIM was on have an affect on SWIM's ability to enjoy weed, or is it possible to suddenly just stop enjoying weed? Also, wondering if the same thing has ever happened to anyone else. Thanks for the input.

I can't speak for the meds/drug use or the suicidal tendencies however I smoked fairly heavily (anywhere from 0.5-4g/day also mixed in with copious amounts of hash) from 17-23 (growing it and essentially having unlimited access) from 20-23. I took a 2 month break in order to pass a UA for an internship about 16 months ago and after starting back up again I truly enjoyed pot again. However after going to festivals and partying all summer I noticed smoking actually increased my anxiety, raised my heart rate, and was just truly not as enjoyable as it used to be. I decided to take a pot break in order to let my receptors chill and although I have cravings to smoke I feel that in the long run it will truly help me enjoy cannabis more. I don't know if this helps at all and I honestly don't have a whole lot of pharmacological knowledge as to what could be happening inside your head but I feel that taking a break from cannabinoids could truly help your situation. Give your body some time let your brain chemistry chill and maybe down the road you will be able to stop by and say hi to your friend mary jane again!

Thanks, yea that's essentially what I was thinking. My body has just been under incredible amounts of stress lately, I think I just need some time to let everything clean out and get back to a stable point. Overall my depression has improved greatly since rehab and there's nothing more I'd like to do than kick back and burn with some buddies and munchies, just like the good old days, no junk, blow, even alcohol as I've always enjoyed the green more than booze. Thanks for the input.

Okay we don't use the acronym, SWIM...we all know it's you...and we have a [MEGA] anxiety and depression thread you can post in...but remember, no swimming..
