Lies
Greed
Hatred
Anger
Poison rains down from the sky.
Like liquid fire the droplets burn all they touch
Clothes corrode
Flesh melts
Spirits fade away to nothing.
Relentlessly eating away all defences,
The downpour of indulgence
Never eases its indefferent attack.
A girl is left in the street
Alone and bleeding from her most sacred places.
A young man sits in an old burned out shop with his freinds,
Drinking and gloating about how sweet the "bitch" that he took was.
A woman locks her four year old son in the cupboard,
Bruised and crying coz he doesnt know why.
"Little bastard will never take my food without asking again!!!"
Or is it the look of innocense in his eyes
That she knows will never return to hers?
The land of milk and honey
Has soured and crusted
Into flaking semen
And acrid bile.

....and the sun broke through the clouds.
For the first time in most of their lives the rain eased.
The Dirty could finally leave their shelters
To look upon this fable they never thought they would see.
The sky.
Eyelids struggled to open in the bright.
Crys of "Halleluja" went out to the world
Praising the light as their saviour returned, the bringer of change!!
"Now everything will be different!!" the Dirty swore.
And change did come,
In many ways the Dirty didnt forsee, just as change always does.
Skin, pale from spending too long hidden in the dark,
Burned and blackened after only the shortest exposure.
Eyes were blinded by the brightness.
Some of the Dirty kept faith in the light
"It is searing away our impurities, submit to it!!!" they preached,
While others grew to fear and hate the light as an enemy
For the pain and death that it brought was not the change they expected.
However, a very few saw the light for what it really was
Light
Not deity, nor even conciousness
Just as indifferent to right and wrong as the rain.
These people saw that change doesnt come with cries of praise or pain.
These people felt inside that growth takes work.
With sober thought, sober action they knew they could climb above.
Above the despair and the need.
Above the rain and the sun.
Above the Dirty!
And they were quiet and went about their lives.

The sun continued to shine.
Intermittently the rains returned.
People continued to be born and die.
The world continued its journey through the universe,
And every now and then someone, no longer one of the Dirty, continued theirs too.

First word in my head *Amazing*
Second thought that comes next is: This work you have created is very moving. That as I read it, I feel it. Saddness and deep thought process I see as the wheels turn and move and take you through the words.
Truly impressed by this one :)
