Got a Rx for Ativan 0.5mg 1 tab po bid pm anxiety Disp. #40 Refills____
She didn't fill in the number of refills. What can I do about this? I know that certain drugs can only be filled for a certain timeframe and that some can't even be refilled. I've done a search here and elsewhere and didn't really get an answer. So...

The only thing you can do about this is to have your doctor re-issue the prescription. If there's nothing filled in on the refill section, then the pharmacy is going to assume that no further refills were intended.

I guess I should have just asked... Can a docror prescribe refills for ativan and how many refills? Also, if I filled in the space myself, how likely would it be that my doctor would find out that I had done it?

The longest refill I've gotten for a benzo was 3 months of 3mg klonopin a day. My shrink is the type of guy that always wants me to try something new instead of just being on a benzo. I'm definitely sick of having to show up every month or two. The timeline is something like this...
With .5mg klonopin
Celexa -> Paxil + Doxepin
With 1mg klonopin
Zoloft -> Prozac + Clomipramine
As you can see my doc is anal about me not being on benzos alone. However I think the next appointment will change that, seeing as how I've tried a hell of a lot of SSRI's and TCA's with no satisfaction.
For anxiety: Yay to benzo's. Nay to anti-depressants.
BAM!
