Red to black?

I just tested some white Mitsus -- these are fairly large pills that are white with light gray speckles. Anyway, the color change started almost immediately, but at first the reagent turned a kind of brownish red. Eventually it turned very dark purple (which I know is good), but it took a long time -- at least 45 seconds (which could be bad). It went from red to purple very slowly. Also, the purple puddle eventually turned greenish brown around the edges. This seems odd. Good pills I've had in the past basically tested dark purple to black very quickly. Any thoughts?

"red to purple very slowly"
This bit bothers me.
Could it be possible that someone actually mixes DXM (or some other drug) with some mdma to get a reaction like this ??
I don't know but I would not take the risk consuming this pill.
Not to darkpurple/almost black in a few seconds -> NOT an Ecstasy like substance.

Here's an update: I read another post somewhere from somebody who said they always test on white paper. The first time I tested, I used a white ceramic plate (per the instructions in the dancesafe kit). I re-tested using paper and guess what -- the sample turned purple then black almost immediately. I can't quite figure this out, except for the fact that on paper the reagent tends to bead rather than spread out (as it does on ceramic), which could affect the concentration / dillution of the sample being tested. Also, the first test was done right when I got home, and before I had turned on the air conditioner, so the temperature of the room was a lot hotter than the second time. The only other possibility I can think of is that the reagent reacts with some chemical in the paper which causes a false positive in the presense of a non-mdma substance.

That is not an accurate way to test the pill, because if you put the regent on white paper by itself it will turn black. The best way (in my experience) is on a white ceramic place.

I just tested a white mitsubishi (with grey speckles) as well. It sounds like exactly the same pill.
My result, however, was very positive as was the experience.
Is it possible that the ceramic surface you used was not completely free of other things?

That may have been the problem. I retested AGAIN on white ceramic, and got a normal result. The ultimate test was last night -- 8 intense hours on 1 1/2. You're going to have fun with these!

When at a rave its kinda weird to sneak in a ceramic plate or it is too big for my pockets. Could I use the lens of my glasses? will it stain them? Or maybe a credit card?

My guess is that if your glasses are anything like mine, they have various coatings -- anti-reflective, scratch-resistant, UV protective -- you name it. I would guess that it is possible that the reagent could react with these coatings, spoil the result, and ruin your glasses. I don't know about a credit card -- I don't know how reactive the plastic is. Do you have any ceramic plates that you could sacrifice? You could break one into pieces and bring a shard with you to the rave, use it to test, and then throw it away.

If it got found when you got searched youd get kicked out of the club for good. Are the tiles you get in club toilets good enough? the ones around the sinks?

A tile would probably be ok if it is (a) white and (b) clean. Any gunk on the tile could affect the result. Also, you'd have to clean up really well afterword because you don't want people to come in contact with the reagent. By the way, If you are going to clubs that search you on the way in, how are you going to bring your e testing solution inside?

Well, the best place is to test at home.
I guess policies about bringing in kits vary from club to club and party to party ??
The tiles in the bathroom are fine.
Find a clean tile, wipe it (toiletpaper ;-) )and test.
Don't forget that glass worx great too, that is available almost everywhere.
And no, do not use your glasses ;-)
Creditcard... no, unless it is blocked already ;-)
Ceramic and glass, stick to that.

.. and whatever you do, don't wipe it onto your clothes after testing. It burnt a hole through my jeans. And made my leg really itchy for a few hours.

Paper - No way. It will char it and make it go black.
Glass - yep. Clean first as AJ suggested
Plastic Credit Card - NO! Will fuck up the plastic if you're not careful. Inside of beer bottle top is probably OK if desperate, as it is lined with a plastic coating.
Metal - Should always avoid, as it can interfere with the result. Will also eat through the metal, and people often 'line up' on those surfaces, so please don't do it here!
Clothing - well, should go without saying, but this stuff WILL eat through most things, and you probably won't notice until you've put it through the wash!!
Skin - S**T man!! Wash the thing QUICKLY. This stuff WILL burn your skin, make it peel for a few days, and if you accidentally brush your contaminated hand on your mucous membranes (mouth, eyes, nose etc) you will BURN LIKE HELL!!
PLEASE - BE CAREFULL!! Not to be casually thrown around. This is basically battery acid!
If you lack a sensible area: In the toilet cubicle, lift the lid on the toilet. Wipe the rim of the porcelain bowl with toilet paper, and do it on the rim of the porcelain bowl. NOT ON THE SEAT!!
Also - PLEASE clean it up by wiping down with toilet paper and flushing! I'd hate to think of someone getting a severe chemical burn on their botty of fanny/willy because some dipshit left some somehwere in the toilet!
BE RESPONSIBLE, or we may find that the constabulary will make it a reason to ban the product. It is in your hands!

mitsubishis are weird pills. they are pretty inconsistant. thered toblack is most likely DxM. in general i dont buy mitsus because of test that i have done and seen done on them, they are most always DxM or K/cocaine (which sucks)
