This weekend I took a heroic dose (for me) of hydrocodone. i took approximately 70mgs over an hours time. The hydro was in a suspension with hydro/pseudofed. 10mg of the total dose was from a pure hydrocodone syp. It felt good for a while, then all hell broke loose. I would be sitting there looking at the tv and I would just kind of daze out for 5 min. It wasn't like the nodding I'm used to. My breathing was really slow and my heart rat fast. I forced myself to breath and I stayed up for 3 more hours to keep my system from giving out in sleep. My stomach turned and I felt like throwing up for an hour, this subsided and I slowly returned to a comfortable nod. When I looked in the miror, I had red blotches all over my body these were worse at the peak of the experience. My question is, What causes these. Are they a sign of kidney problems, or liver failure? Just curious.
 
Sounds a lot like a codeine allergy to me, since thats about the only real adverse effect of this type common to opiates, and its only codeine derivatives and codeine itself.
Have you ever taken codeine? or a lesser amount of hydrocodone?
 
I am used to taking lower doses of hydrocodone (30-40mg) with no adverse affects. I am wondering if it was the pseudoephedrine. The amount had to be above a safe dose. I just want to be sure there is no adverse kidney/liver problems going on.
 
the ephedrine would have been what was causing er heart to race, but it wouldnt slow your breathing. i get the red blothces from codeine all the time, but ive never had hydro so i dont know.
as fro the ephedrine, ive seen dumbasses do like 50 25mg pills ina night, and live to tell about it, so od'ing on that probly isnt too much of a concern
 
I get red blotches all the time. It can happen if you do too much of a drug or if your allergic to it.
