recurring depersonalisation/derealisation?

So the other day some friends and I were having a sesh after picking up from one of our dealers who had just told us they switched suppliers and got a new strand of weed. I had heard of depersonalisation/derealisation and have also witnessed friends going through it and have brought them semi-back to reality by talking to them however I've never had a negative reaction to any drug I've ever consumed, which not gonna lie is quite a bit, so this experienced scared the shit out of me. It started as just a high/baked feeling but then my eyes got really heavy and every time they'd shut for a small period of time my mind raced with all kinds of thoughts; at one point thought I was going to die if I kept my eyes shut for too long or I thought I was going crazy/talking to myself/thinking retarded thoughts etc. Eventually I got woken up for food, which pulled me out of it a little bit, but still felt weird until I passed out. Even the next day, I felt really weird and not myself. I've smoked nearly everyday since and haven't had any bad reactions and it's been the same strand of bud, just wanted to pose the question if anyone has had recurring negative reactions to the same strand of bud?

DEFINITELY not "depersonalisation". If it ever happens to you, you'll know about it. It is a very difficult experience to describe using words and impossible to convey to someone who hasn't actually been there. I hope it never happens to you, because it ain't pleasant.

^ Agreed. If not that, then just a somewhat more severe than usual case of panic induced from getting high.

However, I think you need to elaborate - it's easy to forget that just because you had a vivid experience with your body when you were high, we really have no idea just what the fuck happened unless you spell everything out...you said that you thought your mind was racing and you were getting a crazy influx of thoughts but then you sorta suddenly passed out and just woke up later on...it sounds like your heart was racing rather severely there and somehow your body still calmed itself down pretty quickly to allow you to go to sleep (or pass out) like that. Not saying that that isn't what happened, but since you're talking about a subtle psychological/physiological issue, and specifically about an aspect of overall bodily balance, it's best to be a little more detailed, if at all possible...

But anyway, yea, I've had shit LIKE this happen to me as far as anxiety is concerned, but that was only because I was in a bad mental place at the time, having had stopped daily smoking habits which had been going on for 3-4 years with a few months of sobriety before starting to smoke again. Never had shit happen like this to me due to just smoking a new strand.

If I had to guess, you smoked some really potent indica, since you had trouble keeping open your eyes and you did fall asleep/pass out...

And someone else also said that this does not really sound like depersonalization and I'd second that...that's only happened to me after repeated sessions of smoking a ton day in and day out and staying isolated at the same time. I don't think this was that, but a string of experiences like this could possibly lead to depersonalization...a weird trip is just a weird trip taken by itself, honestly, no need to make it signify more than that.

when u try a new strain... it always gets u higher. sometimes WAY higher. like i mean the first time u try a specific strain, that first time will be the highest you will get off of it. the more u smoke the same strain the less that strain will get u high. its called tolerance education. some strains build tolerance much slower/faster than others.

Example: OG kush, chemdog, and sour diesel are all strains that have very little tolerance build up. its one reason they are all so popular(something about the chem genes) they keep getting you higher the more u smoke for the most part, as if they dont build up as much tolerance somehow.

However on the other end of that, some strains have a very quick tolerance build up even if they are high THC and potent. Critical + is probably the very best example you can find of this. gets u super high the first time u smoke it, but keep smoking it all day and it wont get u any higher.

so u probably got a hold of a strain that was more sativa and a bit stronger, and since it was the first time u tried it, it knocked u on yur ass and give u a trip of a lifetime. :)

I'm guessing you haven't been smoking long. This has never happened to me but I have seen it happen to a lot of people. Like anything else people react differently to the same thing and weed is no different. That is why some people try it and hate it while others try it and love it. I'm assuming the OP is the latter and some of his friends are affected more negatively. Just because it happened to them doesn't men it will happen to you.

What you describe is what I have seen in a lot when people with a low tolerance smoke to much. The more you smoke the more you will get used to the high and the variations and the more you will be able to combat the negative effects either by stopping when you are high enough(or shortly before) or by getting your tolerance up to a point where you can no longer smoke to much.
