Benzos Rectal phenazepam?

Yes I've googled and UTFSE'd it, and it appears there's no discussion of anyone attempting to plug phenazepam.

So I decided to do some research. In the interests of harm reduction, please note I have an insane benzo tolerance at the momet: 10mg clonazepam has me benzoed slightly for a few hours (and were taken this morning), 120+mg valium feels nice for a few hours. I got some phenazepam and put it in 1mg/ml PG solution and intend to taper with it, or maybe even see a p-doc and do a proper medical taper on kpin or valium.

Anyway I just plugged 6ml of my 1mg/ml solution. This is a low dose of phenaz for me, I find in high doses it just makes me sleepy and less anxious, nothing more. I've never even come close to a blackout on this stuff, but I do have a milligram scale (+/-5mg I'm sure, but with my tolerance it hasn't been a problem). Haven't even noticed amnesia, just sleepiness as mentioned. Anyway I'll titrate this 6mg upwards over the evening to see what hapens. The PG did cause some irritation for a few minutes initially making me feel like emptying my bowels, and that hasn't yet passed completely. I'm hoping that rectal admin will allow for lower doses with quicker onset.

As far as the long half life people keep discussing, I wish people would realize the difference between therapeutic effect and plasma half life. Valium has a half life of 200+ hours but you don't hear ANY horror stories of 3 day blackouts with it. Its therapeutic effects last 6 to 10 hours. Same with clonazepam; half life about 56 hours, but therapeutic effects of 10 or less hours at best. The length of time it can be detected in your plasma is not directly related to length of effects, probably due to GPCR internalization (or is the benzo receptor an ion channel?) or receptor fatigue or somesuch. So you can still have the shit floating around in you for days yet have no effect, or even be going into withdrawal depending on your tolerance. So I just don't understand these horror stories, unless they're all just people repeatedly key bumping 30mg every 3 hours for days straight (BTW - thank guys! /sarcastic).

But I digress. Back to my original topic of plugging phenazepam -- anyone noticed any difference in subjective effects, dosing, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, etc?

Am I the first to venture into this land or has anyone else and have any useful comments to add?

Update: 12mg and no significant effects. Maybe not absorbed rectally? Or maybe too much recent research has worn out receptors.

Any other adventurous researchers care to help with this project?

Is there a better forum for this?

Phenazepam is essentially a clonazepam knock off. Occasionally you do hear horror stories of stupid kids who chomp down on 5mg+ clonaz and end up running up trees calling everyone niggers and throwing dirt at them. I think total loss-of-inhibition events can happen with any benzo. Phenazepam just predisposes itself to these kind of events because it seems to be primarily amnesic-anticonvulsive.

That said, e.g. rectal diazepam gel is in medical use, it absorbs slightly faster than oral diazepam but poses no real benefit. Clonazepam is apparently well-absorbed rectally so phenazepam should be too.

It's also important to note that tolerance does develop over the duration of a single benzodiazepine dose. This doesn't mean that taking more when it wears off is a good thing because cumulative blood levels will still rise. In the end you end up with a situation like yours where you have a massive tolerance, or if the rise is too fast you just black out. Another huge factor is the fact that many people retain motor skills and are able to slug down more pills or powder once blacked out.
