First I want to make it quite clear what I type the following isn't in anyway fishing for information on a "cheap way to get high"!!! In actual fact, it is for this specific reason I posted (and mod move if necessary
) in ADD - hopefully the less, umm, "informed" won't get any ideas**?
Additionally - which may give some background as to why I'm suss'ing this out - I had a throat infection and required an antiseptic/anaesthetic to help relieve the symptoms
This, coupled with Tyrael's "life motto" of "not putting anything [drug] in my body without learning the MOA (pharmacodynamics/-kinetics), best ROA, TD/LD50's - the usual basic information about drugs.
Which brings me to my point, one of the active ingredient was Benzydamine (HCl to be precise. Typically used as a NSAID [non-COX inhibitor] and with anaesthetic properties). Now in my research before using this, there were a few references for this substance to be used recreationally - albeit extremely unpleasant.
Apparently the (recreational) effects are predominately CNS stimulation and general deliriant ..... so of course no much fun at all!
My question .... by which MOA are these effects produced? It is apparently a cholinergic, so would this cause it's effects in such high doses? [Having said that my knowledge re cholinergics/acetylcholine and said system isn't entirely up to scratch!]
Just as an aside - it's fair to assume that there are different sub-types of cholinergic compound (and hence effects different sections of the body)??
Thanks people!
** I am quite caution in that this (or others like) could start a "new wave" of OTC drug-use (and possible deaths) - ala DXM and the deaths caused by the excess of the other active ingredient! Afaik, the uses seems to be located in/around South America.
