Recommend a generic serotonin antagonist

I've use psychedelics for 13 years, and while it's been great, I think I may have altered upregulated serotonin receptors correlated with some symptoms I've been dealing with for a few years now.

I have very consistent symptoms that seem to be tied together. I have acid reflux, which irritates my esophagus , and I take cimetidine twice daily to treat it. It helps but it’s not treating whatever is the root cause of the problems. When ever I eat a large meal not only do I get acid reflux, but mucus volumes rise in the back of my throat. They remain elevated until the first stage of digestion it finished. At the same time I start to sweat, I salivate a lot, and my nose runs. There seem to be a more general autonomic or immune reaction occurring and I’m looking for a drug to block the reaction. Guaefenissen thins the mucus but does not do anything about the volume. Pseudoephedrine helps but it also dries out my eyes and causes burning. Antihistamines don’t seem to help that much. What works best is a combination of guaefenissen, pseudoephedrine, and antihistamines, but again the side effects persist and they seem to treat the symptoms rather than address the root cause of the problem.

If anyone knows of a generic drug I could take that would help me eventually downregualate or simply blocked the serotonin receptors I suspect are the cause of these symptoms I'd be very grateful. Thanks.

Thanks a lot for the recommendation. It would be nice to be able to go with Alginic acid. It won't down regulate the receptors, but I sound like it's cheap and non-invasive enough where that wouldn't really be an issue. Plus, judging from the studies I've read citing increased emotional well-being correlated with long term psychedelics use among shamans and traditional psychedelics users, it may just be that having increased serotonin receptor distribution is a good thing. A lot of people report increased mucus production with use of psychedelics. My issues are probably pretty common among long term users. This information could potentially help a lot of people. I'll try to get my hands on some and test it out. I'll report back after I've used it awhile with the results. Thanks again.

Everything you describe is a symptom of gastroesophageal reflux disease, not of psychedelic use (even in persons I know who have consumed psychedelics every day or every other day for months, I have never heard of anything like what you are reporting happening as a result). See a gastroenterologist, they will be able to afford you more effective treatments and some insight into your condition.

You're probably right. I just know that whenever I use any 5-HT agonists or releasers these symptoms increase. Increase levels of serotonin or serotomimetics may just be another indirectly related cause of the symptoms, however.

Update: I've put in an order for Algenic acid. I'll research a dosage regimen and figure out how long to take it before I can expect seeing some results. After I know whether it's effective or not I'll post back. It was cheap and readily available, so I think using it is a practical option for a lot of people. I've read stories online from lots of people with my same symptoms who haven't found relief with traditional antacids or antihistamines, so this information could make a big difference for many. Thanks again for the help.

I have a good friend who suffers similar symptoms if you could provide that update I'd love to share it with him.
