The Fallen Messiah
Bluelighter
As I sat by the campfire on this dark, breezy night, I fiddled with my cane, recalling my past encounters on my journey westward to my homeland.
I saw an angel willingly fall from grace. All traces of compassion in his imposing red eyes were replaced with nothing but grim sadism and wrath.
I saw that very same angel months later attack a lesser angel and rend his wings from his body. He branded hthe lesser one with a Rune of Sins and denounced him to the world of humanity.
These are dark times. I see that the forces are shifting and realigning. Where is God in all of this? Why are the heavens running amok? Why are angels turning their back on their master to serve themselves, or worse, the fallen Lucifer?
I fear that the master of the heavens is losing power over his own dominion, as his children, both angelic and mortal, grow more self-serving and self-righteous with each passing day. The balance is being undone. There is no longer black and white, only shades of grey. Where is God to correct his grand design? And then it came to me.
God has died. His power is only as great as the faith of his believers. As more people begin to lose their faith and belief, His power wanes. His existence is dependant in the hearts of men and angels alike. He created us to sustain His own extistence. Now, man has turned his back on God, in order to serve himself, and in doing so, he is unwittingly unravelling the balance that keeps the world together.
How tragic, that what began with the Creator shall end with the Creation. I only hope I make it to my homeland before the end of time approaches.
