Recess

[Furnace]

Walking around my balcony this afternoon,
letting the sun that had refused
to warm me up at 8 am this morning
do it's job, while the wind
that didn't drive a chill
into the heart of me kept me cool.
They balanced me as
music played along
in the background
while I made out
the sounds of children
on the second day of school
playing in the playground.
Such joy for 12 to 15 minutes,
where I was reminded to take a break
and take some time to remember that
everything changes...
The teachers,
the friends
the ones love,
the ones you don't,
your family,
the seasons.
they all change,
and sometimes it's good.
