And I mean old, from 1996. Do they go bad? They've been in a medicine cabinet at room temperature since then in the origninal bottle.
They are 5/325 by the way. I'm thinking they are still ok to take, but I just wanted to check in case.
 
That's not really old as far as opiates go. They're perfectly fine.
 
Let me make it more clear. It will still have potency... but if they have been exposed to conditions.. such as a lot of light... they will be less potent... if they have been kept in the dark, it should be fine. if the bottle is sealed and you open it and you smell something then the chemicals are breaking down...but either way they are still fine to take.
 
Sorry partykid, but they will be just as potent, that DATE you are referring to is just done to comply with FDA code, or like fairnymph said, "to save their ass." Well Insatiable did say that they were in a medicine cabinent this whole time so that should rule out any question whatsoever in itself, but still that date is really just to cover them, even in less than ideal conditions potency would still be just as high...there have also been a ton of threads on this specific topic, ir anyone is that interested.

I drank a bottle of codeine coughsyrup from 1985 in 2001....I still got fucked up, well, as fucked up as codeine can get you :P
 
Party, they're pills. Which alright make them mostly resistant to light as well as mostly airtight. The only truly realistic bad condition that's going to have any noticeable effect on pharmaceutical opiate pills is exposure to extreme moisture (i.e. getting them wet) or leaving them in a car in the summer (i.e. extreme heat).
 
I was under the impression that if your pills have a vinegar like odor they are bad and can actually cause some harm to you. If this is not true I will have to slap myself for throwing out a bottle of generic percosets that had expired 3 years prior.
They smelled realy bad so I was afraid to at them.
 
Thank you for posting KNOWLEDGABLE information Love In Vein. Partykid, if they were kept in a halfway decent condition (like they were as Insatiable said from the beginning of this thread) they will be JUST AS GOOD. The ONLY conditions that MAY cause some adverse affects on the pills would be the reasons that Love In Vein listed. So, why don't you fucking, "please play again." I really get sick of half the shit you post on here partykid, especially since half of it is not valid and just your skewed opinion. Next time at least research what you're going to tell someone if you're not sure, it's ok not to know the answer to everything, you'll go a lot further only making 1/4 of the posts you do and including GOOD info in them rather than a bunch of shit replies just to post. That's all.

partykid, yes you are right in a sense, some of the questions on this board are opinion orientated, like maybe ones in "The Lounge" and "SLR" but anyways in a forum like OD where reliable information is required, it's important that only factual responses are entered.
Why do you have to bring up topics that I posted a reply to from a totally different forum? How it was an inexperienced post because I took 45mg (which is 9 pills) yet you claim to have taken 25 certainly baffles me. Anyways, i'm not going to let this go too far and ruin Insatiable's thread...so check your e-mail you worthless fuck. I'm done replying to you in this thread.

Hey fairnypmh, definitely not a knock at SLR, those were just two forums that popped into my head at the time that involved a large amount of opinionated answers...but I do agree with you that there are a lot of fact based tips given over there! I have definitely relied on SLR on many occasions, it's one forum that I actually put a lot of confidence into when seeking advice on that particular subject matter.
