Bupe Really dumb relapse - back to square one?

I just am concerned that I've undone my progress.

On a separate note - I'm badly (physically) sick at the moment with the flu or something similar. I got something from the pharmacy today and didn't notice until I got home that it contains, per pill, 9mg codeine in addition to 30mg pseudoephedrine and 500mg paracetamol. I know 9mg codeine is not a lot but do you guys think that using this stuff for a few days could set me back even further?

Might be ok the first day since you took so much bup recently, but even small amounts of opioid use builds the tolerance back up quick. Hell, I just had about 3 weeks clean after 2.5g/day for years, and ended up catching a habit off a mesely 10mg oxycodone/day. So, ofcourse using more, even small amounts, is gonna set you back more but it's a long process of back and forth that you'll be dealing with til you die.

Had to laugh when you said the guy "clotheslined the shit out of you". Reminded me when I OD'd on datura and had 6 security guards beat the crap out of me... then I sprained my wrists trying to break out of restraints.

Don't mean to insult but is this your first run at quitting?

Yeah it is. But I'm not going back to opiates. It's simply not an option for me. And I have no excuse. I have the right supports, etc. And most importantly I don't want to.

There's just no way it's going to be a 'back and forth' for me. I may relapse again, though hopefully not. But I won't go back to daily use, fuck no.

I've never met a single user who just stopped and never used again, ever. I don't consider isolated uses as relapses. If you can use once here and there, and not fall back into the old patterns of daily use then you havent relapsed . Hopefully these, "isolated uses" become few and far between for you before they do actually lead to one.

Having supports and wanting to be clean don't necessarily make for guaranteed staying clean. A lot of it is simply just how the brain works, and everyone regardless of whether they "have an excuse" or not has one. Trying to be clean is a complicated process.
