Hello, i just received my test kit today and I tested these pills that ive had left over from the weekend. They turned dark green to darkblue/black very quickly, maybe turned all the way black in less then 5 secs, I was just wondering if the reaction time and anything with the quanity of mdma or that has nothing to do with it at all? I mean would it usually mean that if there was more mdma in the pill it was turn to dark blue/black quicker then one that doesnt have as much?

I don't know everything about testing kits, (recently had a question of my own with mine, in the methampethamine/MDMA thread below this one), but I can tell you that a faster reaction does NOT mean that the bean has more MDMA in it..A bean with only trace amounts of MDMA might very well possibly turn black in the same amount of time as one with 100 mg or more in it..Only way to find relative amounts is to send into ecstasydata.org, or have an advanced lab set up lol..
 
Hmmm ok, just wondering why when some people test their pills some turn to dark blue/black faster then some other ones tested.
 
Id say it depends on the binder.. Ive noticed weaker pills tend to streak black before the full change, were strong pills kinda turn the whole drop black.

I could not agree more with you. Everyone likes partying. The meaning of this web site however is to give us a more conscious approach to what we take. Stupid comments should be kept for yourself.

If I would have just popped the white butterflies I bought last nite, I woulda lost money..Instead, I tested them, found they were bunk, got my money back, and picked up an orange E which was a wicked mix of ampethimine and MDMA, a great bean..Now do you want to tell me testing is dumb?
 
There are too many variables when testing to deduce relative strength when testing pills. Such factors could include:
The composition and properites of the binders. - eg to they easily dissolve in acid, or fizz in acid etc
Inconsitantcies in the MDMA/binder mix - ie one scraping of one part of the pill may contain more MDMA than a scraping from another part
The total volume of the pill - A weak reaction may still been a strong pill if the pill is of a very large volume, a strong reaction may not mean much at all if the pill is tiny.
The age of your tester.
Whether your tester has be stored correctly.
The temperature of your tester.
The temperature of the room.
The light conditions of the room.
The amount of sample you have scraped off
etc
 
so if u scrape more off it'll test more?

Sorry daveske69, if I unpronouned myself unequivically, the King's english is not my normal linguistic prose of choise.
My last point was simply thus: if one doth use more of a sample to conduct the test forthwith, then expecth such outcomes to be (or not to be)more unbecoming and present in thine eyes that if the sample smaller be.
As for where to buy the tester, they are not available at the chemist down the street, they can be either ordered online using the links provided in the FAQ of this forum, or they can be bought at bong shops and such 'alternative' stores. Seeing you are Australian then 'Off ya tree' is a good choise, I think also Central Station records in the city has them but they may be more expensive.

I have been testing pills for about 3 years. The best pills I have ever taken during that time tested out very dark black/purple in 5 sec. or under. The weaker pills always turn slow and only turn very dark after about 40-60 sec. I dont know if time matters, but I do turn pills down that turn to slow and they have always been weak.

I have to agree there. And anyone who has every had the pleasure of testing pure MDMA (and I'm not talking powder, but a crystal rock to scrape off of) will have seen the bubbles and the reagent turning into a drop of ink from even the tiniest scraping.
I know the test does not claim to give any indication of the strength of a pill, but I certainly am happier when I see a quick and strong reaction.

If i were to get a test kit, and i only popped about 36 pills a year......how long would the kit last me?

Can't tell you how long they last, but each one is good for 200 tests..I've heard they last about a year, maybe a bit more
