Heroin Rapid Detox

I dont understand.....first of all, you explained in your first paragraph about your doctor did that whole nalaxone/naltrexone detox thing and it got you clean.
Why are you asking about taking even more naltrexone pills now? I dont get it? I thought you were clean.
Maybe you skipped the part where after you got clean, you relapsed and started using again....i dont know. You didnt make it clear at all. But if that is the case, and you have been abusing opiates again...I dont think the naltrexone would "speed up" your detox. It basically just rips opiates off of your receptors(except buprenorphine) and then fills them up so you cant get high as long as they are on the receptors.
If you want to get clean and use the naltrexone pills to help....why dont you just stop using opiates, wait until your in withdrawal, and then start taking the naltrexone pills. That way you wont be put into PW's....but it will prevent you from using.

it was because of this thread that I finally had to register so I could post the person that said after 4 days withdrawal should be gone is completely out of their mind- obviously never even experience real opioids withdrawal symptoms. I was at a point in my life describes two very large amounts of oxy enough to kill recreational user in my opinion that comment about after 4 days they're should barely be any withdrawal symptoms just because the drug is no longer in the body. I'm here to tell you that person doesn't know jack about what withdrawal actually is it's all about receptor sites as you are constantly giving yourself opioids your body doesn't need as many receptors to pick them up that brings on tolerance I'm not a doctor but I'm sick and tired of people telling me that after a few days I should be fine I've gone 31 days after cold turkey and finally broke down and took something else to relieve it I've been doing this for 10 years don't have the money for rapid detox and by the way I've never done heroin I've been on sub for 6 yrs and that's only partial agonist

that is not true not true not true it takes more than 4 days people like you that frustrate the hell out of me you don't know what it is to be dependent you have had some baby withdrawal symptoms apparently because it takes a hell of a lot longer than 4 days after the drugs to clear your system just feel even remotely better and if this man can get his hands on something that will force every last bit of it out of his brain and forces brain to reconnect I say go for it

Yeah truth to above two posters, maybe the first time u go into w/d its 3-5 days, but for a seasoned user whose w/drawn before, I'd say you feel true physical symtoms for 7-14 days. Sure you feel the worst the first 2-5 days, but you don't just have a switch go off and feel normal on day 5 or day 6 or whatever. You're not puking and writhing in agony on day 6, but ur sore, achy, sleepless, maaybe still getting hot/cold flashes, nausiouss....all in varying degrees and not all the time but they're there.

That said, I still don't get what the OP is suggesting. The proposal only makes sense in light of a relapse, and if that's the case, then the detox should be medically supervised again.

OP, pls ellaborate on your situation and what your hoping to accomplish. Or are you posing a hypothetical question?

Also, can you explain the difference between naloxone and naltrexone in terms of effect?
