i have a friend who is prescribed oxycontin e.r. 40 mg to be taken 1x daily and also oxycodone i.r. 30mg to be taken 5x day.
well he didnt take any of his oxycodone i.r. this month but instead took the oxycontin e.r 40mg crushed and disolved in lemon juice.
but he still kept his intake to 190 mg daily. he had a doctors appt today so yesterday he took 3 oxycodone just to get those in his system in case of u.a.
well they popped one on him.basically he is affraid that the test may show that he wasnt taking the oxycodone 30 mg.
he is wondering if the oxycontin e.r. looks just like oxycodone i.r. on the u.a. he suspects it does but isnt sure. he assumes that they are really only checking for levels of all prescribed meds. as long as he has maintained this level he should be ok regardless how it got there, right?

Oxycodone is Oxycodone. I'd imagine both medications would come up the same on a test. Could be wrong, though. Perhaps something in the Extended Release formula comes up differently than the Instant Release? But that would mean the U.A. test would have to test for two different types of the same chemical, which doesn't make sense to me. I'm sure you're friend is fine.

I'm sorry, we don't allow drug testing questions and as such I have to close this.

PM me with any queries.
