^ They make less noise than cars, can be hidden easier. Plus, they are harmless to the environment, something a freegan cares about a great deal.

I have an ex who used to be a manager at a Sainsbury store, they do pour a blue colored dye over the food they throw out in bins. It's none toxic though, but I have heard of some companies pouring bleach over their waste foods.

I used to work for Marks and Spencer (Before I got wise to their links to Israel and their stance on the illegal occupation of Palestine) and it woudl infuriate me how so much food would be thrown away and destroyed when they could have given it to homeless charities. Then again, there is the issue of out of date food, and the legal come back to them if somebody was to become ill. At least if you take it from a bin, it's at your own risk!

They're to cut 200 more jobs to bring their total cull to a staggering 26,200 jobs axed. I wonder how many unemployed there are in the UK now.

The government are cutting benefits in a bid to get people back into work but even the PM has admitted the unemployment rate is getting to be a serious issue. They KNOW there aren't many jobs available and companies including the government themselves are axing even more jobs.

How are people meant to find work? :!
 
Being back at work sucks fucking balls. At least I'm not getting sacked now, although tbh a bit of me wishes I did get sacked. I can't hack doing this job much longer, decided a couple of months, save as much as I can & boost to Ibiza to work for the season.

Problem is I've been looking on the Ibiza Spotlight forums & the only comments about this year seem to be saying it'll be near impossible to find a job. Anyone on here got any clue what it'll be like??? Also seems to be some talk of people getting hired as PRs but not knowing they need to be licensed, getting searched & lifted by the Civil Guard, then the shady employer denying all knowledge of them. Fuck that, I wouldn't want them to have any reason to have to search me!

Someone please tell me "No, everything will be fine, you'll get a job no bother & you won't get jailed". Please.
 
possibly the quickest easiest thing to genuinely help a charity that i've ever seen:

please fill out this survey. it takes 5 mins. you don't need to know anything whatsoever about eating disorders (question 2 is misleading in that respect...), you will have seen them represented in the media and probably have an opinion.

beat is a lifeline for those with eating disorders, really makes up for some of the nhs's shortcomings, so well worth donating a little time to.

NHS really does have a lot of shortcomings in all areas of mental health but eating disorders do seem to get a particularly raw deal..

Gah, supposed to be preparing for interview but sucked in by the internet as always. Didn't sleep well last night so am probably not at my best anyway.. (excuses, excuses!)

i think part of the problem is that there isn't really a cure, and thats not the nhs's fault. they've done some awful things but at least with EDs you generally don't have to wait sooooooooo long for treatment cos you're so likely to die in the interim. wahey.

Yeah I agree chinup.. in my area you can't even get referred to a psychiatrist unless you are actually about to kill yourself or are completely psychotic but I guess for EDs they do need to try to intervene early. Have heard that CBT can help but got no evidence to back this up.. The fact that there isn't much docs can do makes charities such as the one you posted all the more important I reckon, at least people can get some support!

afaik CAT is the only one proven to help with anorexia, it did help me a lot, i had 5 years of CBT prior to developing full blown anorexia so am dubious. what both support groups and IP treatment really showed me is that every single case is different. there are a lot of general themes but everyone responds differently to different therapies. peoples mental health issues are as individual as people themselves, which makes it very difficult indeed for the care providers.

I'll do it the now.

I rarely do anything for charity, really should though. I donated a tenner to Help for Heroes last night, on the condition that my mate runs some marathon/half-marathon/100 yard dash thing. I told him I'd make it a score if he done it in the scud but I don't think he's up for it lol.
 
Lol, not really. I donated that tenner because it's my mate & he's in the army so I was happy to give money to Help For Heroes.

I've still got my sad face on at the chances of spending the summer in Ibiza looking shitter & shitter by the minute. I'm thinking fuck it though, worst case scenario is I don't find a job, have a slightly extended holiday & come home skint*, hardly the end of the world. I'd rather attempt it & regret the fact that it failed miserably than regret never attempting it.

*In fact, worst case scenario is get busted dealing drugs & end up in a Spanish jail but that's not really gonna happen lol.

Aye, that's one of the problems I've got mate. I'm male, 5' 9", long hair, scruffy as fuck, fat belly etc, I'm hardly the prime candidate for getting the punters in. Hoping for some bar work or selling tickets, but again the ticket sellers seem to always be naughty birds or what you might describe as "hot guys" (ie surfer looking knob-ends).

Flogging tickets would be ideal, perfect excuse to flog something more profitable ;) - I'm only joking about that one btw, reports of lots of undercover cops with English accents puts that plan right out the window, fuck getting lifted by the Civil Guard.

Do you know if she has a job, or anything lined up, or is she just heading over with some cash & chancing it??? That's what I reckon I'm gonna do, have enough money to last a month or so, if it doesn't work out then shout fuck it & head home.
 
Is it not ridicolously hard to geta job in Ibiza and actually make any cash? There was a docu a few years back following a group of guys and girls trying to get allsorts of work and most failed miserably or couldnt make ends meet and these were decent looking birds etc who you think would be able to get drunk guys into bars.

Go travelling with your cash, money will go much further than in super expensive Ibiza, it will be brilliant fun and you will see and do tons of cool things that youve never seen before. Youve been to Ibiza loads of times.
