I'd call my B&B Cracker jack Palace. My dad has a habit of answering his landline with 'Hello, Cracker jack Palace' and other silly things, he also likes to answer saying Good morning if it's afternoon and visa versa. I might have to give him a call to see what he comes out with.

I've had major heart burn for the past few days. Which is odd as I usually only suffer it if I've been drinking, but i've not touched a drop for 9 days now. Could it be GBL causing it? I've only got 1ml left after using it since Wednesday, eeek!

I had horrid heartburn all last week, Cherry. Has only just gone in the last day or so. Have also not been drinking at all - nor had any GBL - but have been ill with a flu that seems to do nasty things to the gut region so put it down to that. I'm pretty sure I've had bouts of heartburn when hitting the GBL heavily a few times but no idea if it was just coincidence or causality.

It's horrible isn't it? This is actual torture! I've got some Proton pump inhibitors somewhere, but it'd take a good rummage to find them, i've attempted a mini one and they're not surfacing. They're the only thing that works when I get it this bad. I don't think the amount of coffee i've been pouring down my throat is helping either.

Ah well, shall just have to battle on.

Heartburn is pure hell. Used to get it almost constantly a few years back before my stomach ulcer was treated. I had a script for omeprazole for it at the time and that always helped. Still got a few kicking about I think but like you would involve a good rummage. Never occurs to me to rummage when I'm suffering with heartburn though. Doh!

Sorry for my rant guys, especially sadie and shambles, i was not targetting you guys (well i guess i was but it was not personal at all i promise), just had a rotten day and a rotten week and it all came out!

A lot of doctors are shit. Waiting ages to see one then not getting the right treatment is shit. Doctors understanding of drugs is shit. I just get defensive over the NHS as we are fucking lucky to have it, although I freely admit it has a LOT of problems and should be better than it is

Sorry again guys, espesh shammy and sadie, shouldn't have taken my bad mood out on you two, as I love you both

Gaviscon is best for heartburn btw, it actually treats the problem rather than just masking symptoms

Can quite see where you are coming from - especially after a shit day - but just wanted to point out I actually totally agree with you about the wondrous NHS we tend to take for granted and bitch about when we are incredibly lucky to have the facility. All countries should.

PS: Omeprazole are indeed wonder pills but I must admit I the taste of Gaviscon for some reason. Was just that you have to pay for that and had a script for omeprazole so used that. Would almost have preferred a Gaviscon script cos it's yummy :D

My appetite has been really shite recently which means heartburn has begun to creep in. I'm grateful that it's only at about 13% of its former intensity though. Means I don't have to shell out for expensive Gaviscon and can rely on good aul' Ballyrashane milk

Oh sweetie, don't you go apologising! I knew where you were coming from and trust me, having lived in a country with no NHS and having lost a mother because she couldn't pay for treatment I know all too well. It's a wonderful system. I too was just being pissy. I just want to feel better and it doesn't help that the particular GP I saw yesterday has a nasty habit of being totally condescending. Oft! That woman really riles me up something awful.

I'm very lucky to ( when I get book him ) have the most fantastic doctor I've ever come across. He genuinely loves his job and loves helping people.

Hope you've had a better day today and hopefully a better week ahead.

Aye, that stuff is amazing! My doc prescribed that to me and some nice buscapan when I was having a rather intense bout of IBS. The combination finally got things under control. Thank goodness I was in such incredible pain.
