I just took 150mg of diphenhydramine for getting to sleep because of a cold. Anyway, I noticed some interesting audatory hallucinations. When I close my eyes and relax and concentrate on sound, I start to hear random dialog in my head. Mostly incoherant, but some of it actually makes sence. The more I concentrate on it the more real it sounds. Anyone else have this experience?

I dont know if I am being clear because i am writing this as it happens so if i dont make sence then i appologize.

Nothing unusual there, as the deleriant quality of DPH will produce quite nonsensical dreamlike effects which can seem VERY real.

the first - and only - time i took a 'recreational' dose of diphenhydramine, it was 500mgs i think, was incredibly weird and not very pleasant. never used more than 50mgs after that. when i closed my eyes, it seemed like they were opened, i saw my bedroom exactly as it was, only illuminated by bright sunlight.

Yes, I have had the exact same thing happen to me.
It seemed that every time I went to respond to something someone was saying though, I'd realize it wasn't real.
No recreational value to this drug.

I too, have had these two exact experiences. I don't remember what my dose was, but I too have heard dialogue in my head from voices that were not my own, and when my eyes were closed it looked like they were not and I could see my room and even look around. Diphenhydramine is overall very uncomfortable however and I would not recommend it(except for antihistamine/insomnia) to anyone.

I have also been able to see my room with my eyes closed from high doses of dextromethorphan. Dextromethorphan is very pleasant though.
