Hey all,

So I have been taking a regimen of SJW in the hopes that it may reupregulate my serotonin receptors. I haven't really abuse MDMA much, but did roll a few times earlier this year and I figured it wouldn't hurt to take some to reverse any damage and avoid any depression.

I think i felt a mild boost in mood after taking the SJW for a few weeks, but overall it was pretty subtle. I was on 1.2-1.5g a day (rec dose is around 900mg). I really did not feel markedly different, but felt that it was doing a little something so I continued.

~4 months later now, I started getting more pronounced side effects. My skin/eyes were more sensitive, and I noticed that my skin was tanning more and getting burned. I was also more fatigued during the day, had trouble waking up, and suffered from pretty serious headaches for at least a month before stopping.

I've been off a week or two now, and most of those effects have subsided. Just wanted to share my experience, and offer a warning about usage of SJW.

I wanted to test to see it had any effect on my tolerance, but I don't plan to roll till the end of the year, so I can't necessarily attribute anything directly to usage of SJW, but maybe it did make a difference.

This story should tell others to first try natural alternatives before taking another drug. You should workout in the sun at least 20-30 minutes everyday without glasses, light is a natural serotonin replenisher. (don't sit in the shade!)

Proper diet-> proteins & complex carbs, stop eating junk!

SSRI's should only be used as a last resort.

totally agree on the exercise and diet.

in regards to SJW, i took it because it was a herbal alternative.. but it goes to show, just because something is herbal doesn't mean its safe/good for you. it's not necessarily an SSRI (has weak properties of both ssris and maois) but in general, not much is known about the substance.

Ah then thanks for the info, hope you can help someone else who might be thinking about taking them. :)
