Main question:
Has anyone here gone from eating drugs like candy (or smoking them) to using once per year or not at all (at least for over 3 years)? If so, how long did it take you to start feeling better after quitting ALL of them? I am including and emphasizing the feeling of shit when quitting alcohol, caffeine, and tobacco.
Extra information:
I only use tobacco, caffeine, and alcohol nowadays. I quit the rest (MDMA, pills, rare opiate binges, DXM, nitrous, speed, and marijuana) telling myself I only wanted the 3 legal, readily available drugs. Now the only reason I want these 3 is because I am addicted to them because I fear the unknown timeline of feeling like shit. I want to be drug free for a while. Also, I'm going to stick with the assumption that I will eventually feel better after I get used to my brain working without alcohol, caffeine, nicotine, nornicotine, and anabasine (last 2 are MAOIs in tobacco). I realize this could take years in the case of my cannabinoid system going back to functioning without the aid of THC. I won't lie to myself that I know THC is one sticky fat soluble molecule, and hence will take more time to adjust itself then say, my cholinergenic system will.
The main thing I am worried about is although quitting speed, DXM, marijuana, and MDMA sucked, I always had alcohol, tobacco, and coffee to fall back on. Now there will be NOTHING to fall back on, and I realize this will take adjusting to. But I haven't met anyone who has gone from doing lots of drugs, to none. Even people in AA smoke like crazy and drink coffee. Once again, although these drugs are arguabley "mild" in effect, they are drugs.
