Quick Question RE: Gabapentin

Hi, I am in my third cold cut from tramadol(last Sunday night four days total) and this time I decided to take 100mg of gabapentin x 3 daily to see if it helps, it has, just took the gabapentin for five days(Sunday through tomorrow Friday), and I plan on cutting it off altogether tomorrow (day five).

I hope to have my first beers in ten years over the weekend, no WD from tramadol this time, or rather very mild wd which strongly appears to have resolved, can I just stop the gabapentin as I plan to, or do worries exist???

I’m no doctor, but 5 days only of gabapentin I’m pretty sure you can just stop. Or maybe go down to 2 of them for a few days, then one of them for a few days then stop. Both would probably be fine. But either way, you can skip a day when you have alcohol.

When you say first beers in 10 years do you mean you had quit drinking in 10 years ago or you just haven’t drank in general in a while?

Since I have been on tramadol I had to forgo all alcohol intake, not a single drop of wine, or beer since 2013, such has become my principle motivation for getting off of the tramadol altogether, which they are cutting me off from anyway! I am down from 180 a month to 84, or three a day, and I have had a hard time getting down to that, which accounts for the third cold cut in three months. I am finally caught up with the taper dosing schedule, I have no intention of starting up again with the tramadol, when I went off cold last Sunday I was down to 150 mg a day, and I hope to see all wd cease by Monday the 1st. Incredibly the damn tramadol wd still persists, with no sleep and that god damn tingling/RLS in all four extremities, even six days out from jumping off of just that 150 mg dosing, which I was quartering up into six 25 mg doses.... Thiis why I was relying upon the gabapentin, but I do not trust that shit, I think its a snake in the grass!

the gabapentin is not going to give you any problems its the tramadol that will cause you discomfort ..just keep tapering down on that and get as low as possible slowly ....if you haven't had any in the last 5 days your prob good to go and will prob just feel a bit crappy and prob get little sleep...but nothing you can't handle...I would hold off on the beer until you get a month off the tramadol because it will give you some relief but it will just make all your symptoms from coming off the tramadol worse imo
