I feel 30% more retarded than I was before so I don't know. (I have ADD and have a legitimate script for it)

amphetamine is commonly used for cognitive enhancement, so you shouldn't feel retarded because of it. could you explain your problems a bit more? it's hard to say anything with the information you provide...

either way, this is not PD material, so it will get moved to the appropriate sub forum soon :)

A quick Google search shows articles that say that it does, that it doesn't, or that it increases it. I suggest that you read a lot of those articles and come to your own conclusion.

^Yes. he did. For whatever it's worth to whomever it's worth anything as these things are or aren't.

(exactly).

Do you use it daily? And do you feel 'retarded' when sober or when high?

^ this.

Generally, it's expected that when you take it, you'll experience enhanced focus, clarity and overall improvement. When it wears off, you can expect to be more drained, sluggish and have more cognitive difficulty/deficits.

If you take it regularly (depending entirely on the dose and other lifestyle factors), you may experience more pronounced adverse cognitive effects more regularly.

In short, either way, it does not lower IQ but can impact performance and cognitive ability when both on and off it (in differing ways).

The concentration factor should definitely be there. That is if you are experienced its wanted effects. What dose are you taking anyway?

Well then, I guess the consensus here implies I have to keep using it to stay alive. I guess I'll just try to adapt to the situation on my off days

No you aren't obliged to take it daily to keep yourself going, talk with your doctor about the adverse effects you have and he'll tell you the best solution.
If I were you I would simply stop using Adderall for at least 3 weeks and see if there is any improvement.

No adderall actually does the oppisite and is a stimulant performance enhancer but it does have a tendency to confuse people and make it feel the opposite try stimulating your brain with things like brain teasers and such when your not on it I'm sure you will probably feel better

How long have you been on it? I was on 60 mg of adderall and 70 mg of vyvanse for the better part of 6 or 7 years. After a while, it's counter productive. I'm diagnosed ADD and am a total space case but I prefer to be off of them now. I did have cognitive difficulties after a while. Take a break. Not a week, like a month to give yourself time to get back to baseline. The withdrawal is over in a week or so, but you need more time than that. The withdrawal is pretty mild. Then if you feel like you need them take them sparingly to get your stuff done. I think daily use causes more problems than it solves for the most part. High dose B12 (sublingual) is good for concentration too and you can't really take too much. It's a bit more of a clearheaded energy than a stimulating kind. Magnesium is never a bad idea either. A b complex might be good too because amphetamines depelete B1.

This might be worth a read.
