Had a question about thorazine. I wanted to know that if i had been drinking and doing adderral. I know the thorazine counteracts the adderral, but is it good to take after you have been drinking? Need an ASAP response please. Thanks

Uh, might I ask why thorazine is involved? If you are trying to chill someone out, it's probably safer, easier, and more pleasant just to use some benzos; and if someone is psychotic, adderall is possibly the WORST thing they could take. That being said, thorazine is a depressant, so the usual warnings apply: "Do not use in comatose states, presence of large amounts of C.N.S. depressants (alcohol, barbiturates, narcotics, etc.)." "The use of alcohol with this drug should be avoided due to possible additive effects and hypotension." (www.rxlist.com)
If it's the lesser of two evils, I would guess that it would be OK, as adderall might counterbalance the downerness, but I would avoid it unless really necessary.

Of course you ALWAYS want to avoid mixing alcohol with CNS depressants .. wait, lets be accurate, you USUALLY want to avoid mixing the two... no, still we are not hitting the proverbial nail on the head .. lets try this again - IN SOME CASES, with SOME DRUGS, it's not good to consume alcohol with the medication.... anti-psychotics are some of the drugs that are not good mixed wlth hard liquor - aside from one HORRIBLE headache, there is some MINOR risk ...
Having read some things on anti-psychotic drugs as of late, my opinion has changed - I used to agree that drugs like Haldol and Thorazine would give a nive, mellow high... but I not think these are better left to the nuts out there that actually need these so the Canadians can't contol their mind with radio waves! It just seems like the more I read, the less value I find in these...
YMMV!

"I am not one of those weak-spirited, sappy Americans who want to be liked by all the people around them. I don't care if people hate my guts; I assume most of them do. The important question is: 'What are they in a position to do about it?'" (William S. Burroughs)

I agree with Phreex's assessment....
We learn all about the people that need Thorazine in psych class, and it seems to very a very potent, very profound med. It affects brain chemistry differently in people with differing neurological problems, and I wouldn't use it rec'ly.

Thorazine is also one of the reasons that mental patients shuffle around the corridors staring at there feet. The'thorazine shuffle'.
(just thought some might find that interesting)
