Questions / concerns after first few times of shooting H

Good evening everyone,

It's been a while since I've been on here (a few years). I wasn't to sure where to post this, and I apologize if I posted this in the wrong forum. So I recently started shooting H (started yesterday). And I didn't realize I would have so many questions after the fact I've done it. So let me start by addressing some concerns I hope to have answered. I shot up yesterday and obviously it took me a few times to complete. I missed a few times and I never injected it, I just pulled the plunger out to see if I had blood. Now what does it mean when I got a few bumps, that went away fairly quickly? I have trouble hitting the smaller veins so I use the big one in the bend of the arm. How many times approximately would it take to totally ruin the vein? And is minor discomfort in the areas of the missed injections something I should be concerned about? I have no bruising, just a few small red dots and lines from the needle. I have noticed some sort of red blotch about 6 inches above the injection site. Any clue what that could be? I'm not sure if its a scratch or something, or if its from injection.

Can anyone with experience with this subject just give me some information on what I should be on the lookout for. I didn't think that there would be so much things to worry about. I just want to make sure I have better knowledge so I can maintain my health. I understand this has probably been asked /answered a million times. But I want to be safer then sorry. If anyone has any other information that would be helpful please share, I greatly appreciate any replies.

Have a good day / night.

1. small bumps are no big deal
2. It's not the quantity of times you hit a vein that makes it collapse. Generally when veins collapse it's from bad shooting practices like getting to much suction in the vein when you pull back the plunger to see if it registers.
3. The blotch may be a slight miss. You may not think you missed any but it's pretty easy to go all the way through the vein to the other side. Make sure you're going as parallel to the vein as you can with the needle.
4. Make sure you're using new needles every time, and try to use alcohol swabs and a micron filter. Never shoot hot liquid; cool it down first. Be on the lookout for signs of infection (redness, heat, pain, swelling) and abcess (a large lump at the injection site) as these will both require medical attention.

Again, make sure you're not pulling back the plunger too much to register - as little as possible to get your red flag. And if you have to stick yourself more than two or three times to hit a vein it's probably a good idea to switch out needles. Dull needles can cause the little bumps you described from the barbs that peel back.

Use the smallest needle possible for first timers. Use the vein in the bend of the arm. Try using a 5cc syringe, the rounded capped ones. Prep your H and draw it up, make sure to flick the syringe and get all air bubbles out. Push the needle slowly into the biggest vein you can find, you will usually feel a kind of pop once you hit the vein. Now, this is the part you need to be careful. When you think you're in a vein, pull the plunger back SLIGHTLY. If you see no blood, try again. If you DO however see blood, you're in the vein. Try not to move the needle. Push the plunger down at a moderate speed, you can go faster as you gain experience. If you feel a sting as you're injecting, pull out. You've either went through the vein or lost it completely. A good clean shot should have no pain whatsoever, no feeling at all, and no bumps. A bump means you shot some into a muscle (I think).

Use cold water, don't listen when people say cook it. If it's good H, it will dissolve within 3 minutes. Some heroin does require a SMALL amount of heat to dissolve though. Micron filters help but aren't a necessity. Saline water solutions are also a good option but if you don't have that, boil some water and let it cool down until it's room temperature then use that.

Hey you two thanks for the information. Obviously my one arm is kinda fucked, I missed so many times. (Not sure because im right handed) But my other arm I have used about 5 times you couldn't even tell I ever shot anything. But I don't know if its because i'm a rookie at shooting, I am freaking out about my arm. I have a swollen area (no redness) on the backside of my forearm. Its not extremely painful just tender. And the vein in the bend of my arm feels very tight and stiff. Again no excruciating pain, but a little sore. And I have red dots from the injection attempts. Is that normal? I don't want to go to the ER if I don't have too. I don't see any discoloration that would alarm me. But the abscess thing is scary and the gangrene stuff too. Thats really all of my concerns for now. Thanks again ;)

You're experiencing gangrene? And abscesses? You most DEFINITELY completely missed and shot the whole dose into your muscle. The gangrene almost makes me want to recommend going to the ER or seeing a doctor.
