Questions about Stillnox getting you high/tolerance

Hi, I'm new to Bluelight, I've read it quite a lot but decided I should finally become a member when for the first time, the question/answer I was looking for I couldn't find... So this is what I'm dealing with. I used to take Ambien for awhile (about a year ago) every night, not only sleep but to also feel the 'high', my
tolerance got up to having to take about 8 or 9. Now in the recent months I've started taking Stillnox (which I know is also zolpidem) and I'm having to take about 15 of the 10mg and I still barely feel high, and I don't even take it every night. I didn't get up to 15 gradually, I started with just a few, felt nothing and pretty quickly jumped up to 15. Is it possible that taking that much is giving me the reverse effect? Should I try and lower my dose again? The thing is with that is that if I take Stillnox and don't feel anything and then take more it has no effect. Has anyone else experienced that? It's like you have to take it all at once or forget it. Anyways, if anyone has any advice I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
PS- I don't know if this is the right thread, I was kind of confused on where I should post this...

Try some other benzodiazine, a little bit variation could do the trick sometimes.

Hello and welcome to Bluelight. :)

This is in the wrong section and is probably going to be sent over to basic drug discussion, as it's better suited there imo.

To answer your question though, what you're experiencing is tolerance. My only suggestion to you would be to taper your dosage slowly (I'm unsure of the withdrawal effects of the hypnotic 'z' drugs) over the course of a few months, then take a few months off to 'reset' the receptors responsible for the sensitivity to the drug. If you're getting these from a doctor discuss the matter with him before doing anything.

Also be sure to read through the BLUA so you have a better understanding of who we are, what we're about, and how we operate.

Also, be sure to introduce yourself over at New Member Introductions. They get lonely over there ;).

This is indeed the wrong forum. Head on over to NMI, introduce yourself, etc. We also have a great adoption plan running - a veteran BL'er or mod will "adopt" you, show you around. I think you could definitely benefit from this in helping you find the right forums! The Adoption Program thread is a stickied thread (one of the orange threads) at the top of the forum page. Everyone over there is amazing, and one of us will be MORE than happy to help you! Welcome to Bluelight, and I hope you're enjoying yourself so far. <3

You have a tolerance to a sedative hypnotic. Cooking naked and seeing people goes away within a week of use. Getting high on ambien is short lived.

Yeah its sort of a bummer that we can't tell you much else.

Ambien is a member of a class of drugs that are very similar to Benzodiazipenes. The problem inherent here is that benzo tolerance is known for two things: 1- going up and 2- not going down, at least, not quickly in any sense of the word.

So unfortunately you have a very high tolerance to benzodiaziepienes stemming from the massive amounts of Ambien and Zolpidem you have taken (they are highly cross-tolerant to regular benzos)

There's not much to do except as mentioned earlier to slowly taper your dosage down. You aren't going to really get 'high' any more, but that's just about your only option. You can try taking a different drug, a regular benzo, something like temazepam (often considered to be the most 'euphoric' of the hypnotic benzos) but you will undoubtedly need to take a very large dose to feel anything from it. It might make you feel good but it is nto going to make you hallucinate or get 'high'; if you are lucky it will just put you to sleep. But the problem is that your dosage would have to be far to high to make usage sustainable.

While taking large doses isn't inherently dangerous because benzos are hard to OD on when taken only by themselves - its also not recommended becasue benzo addiction is not a road you want to stroll down. Its easy to become dependent on benzos or z-drugs.

So you should try your best to taper your dosage downwards towards something more sustainable and come to terms with the ack that you won't be getting 'high' from ambien or zolpidem anytime soon.

I wish you best of luck

Ps. Welcome to Bluelight - I'm well versed in the ways of benzos, ambien, zolpidem, hypnotics, etc. If you have further questions that aren't being answered ehre feel free to pm me; I'd be happy to try to answer them for ya
