Let me start off by saying that i have severe back pain through out the day. Cant afford insurance, so cant get to a doctor. I was reading up about some herbs that can help with back pain and saw that someone recommended kratom. I started reading and found alot of contradicting stories about kratom. Some saying that it can act as a pain killer and others saying that it does not. So my question is can it help me with my back pain? What strain should i choose? [snip]
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Kratom is an effective painkiller for mild to moderate pain. (Better than acetaminophen or most NSAIDs anyway). I'd say it's about as potent as codeine or hydrocodone depending on the dose, quality, etc.

The people saying it's worthless either 1.) got bunk kratom, or 2.) have a high opiate tolerance and can't get 'high' off kratom so they assume it's no good.

It all depends on the severity of your pain and how your body reacts to kratom. It's a cheap, abundant, legal substance that's been used for thousands of years as a painkiller and general tonic. That's the good news. The bad news is that it carries the same risks as other opiates: possible physical dependence, decreased effectiveness over time, etc.

I prefer Bali for pain management, but the quality means a lot more than the strain name. Start with a plain powder before trying any of the extracts or tinctures. Don't let all the different adjectives ("Premium", "Super", etc) confuse you. They mean nothing. Read the customer reviews and go from there.

agree with the above post. euphoria doesn't = analgesia.

fentanyl is more sedating and analgesic than morphine, yet produces less euphoria.

The Green Bali kratom I tried last week provided excellent relief from pain I had been experiencing in my legs. It also brought down my anxiety levels, which I believe has a direct effect on how much physical (and mental) pain actually bothers you.

yeah kratom will work well for minor/moderate acute pain, but for chronic pain, i dont think it is viable. i wouldnt want to force powder down my throat on a daily basis for months at a time. ughh that shit is fucking nasty, the smell and texture really fucks me up lolol. yeah yeah you can shove kratom into pills, mix into food, make tea, ect.... but the only way i have found to provide effective results was the toss n' wash method

Toss and wash for the win. I mix room temp tap water and a couple teaspoons with water. Then drink the concoction and chase with water.

OP: Only one way to find out. Research and experimentation. Some get results some don't. Depends on your level of pain and the way your body reacts to it.

It should be easy enough, as long as you remember that these are tropical plants and need a rather warm and humid environment.

Be sure to check local and state laws first to make sure you don't end up in trouble.
