Tryptamines Questions about DMT

Those Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers started in 1971. In the 60s, if you wanted a bong you had to make one yourself.

When I first started smoking we made them out of shampoo bottles. You can poke a hole, heat and pop a stem in without needing glue. When it gets dirty, you pull the stem and put it in a new bottle (and throw the old one away).
The first head shop I went to (and bought the Freak Brothers comics) had plenty of bongs, bamboo bongs were nice. But, the most common storebought bongs were simple acrylic tubes with a thimble as a bowl. I had one as did a few friends.
But, you are right. I began smoking in 1971.

How does that work
crumple up a single rolling cigarette paper and cut it into 20 strips and crumple each of those up individually - put one or two crumpled cigarette paper fragment strips/wads into the pipe bowl and then put your nugget(s) of dmt on top... same as using a bit of weed or other leafy stuff, burns at same speed as a leaf but very clean. no taste. if not crumpled up it does not leave enough air between layers to burn effectively.

I haven't read all of the previous posts entirely, but I will. Forgive me if this question has already been answered...

DMT is one of the few classic psychedelics I've never tried-- but I want to for sure.
Are the commercial DMT pens available online any good? I know that the Internet is always a gamble, but are the risks huge?

Similar history.
I took a couple hits off a joint that year when I was 12. I wasn't a daily smoker till 1973. Made my first pipe (clay) that year.(73)
Similar for sure. I was 15 in '71, smoking occasionally, and began daily smoking in '73 as well.

ive never bought one, ive always just bought a gram of dmt and then smoked it in either an oil pipe (meth bubble), sandwiched it in between bud, or smoked it in that e-mesh that i put together per those instructions

here it is:

so you put it on that mesh and take a rip like that

It costs a bit more but I swear by my Vapor Genie. It really taught me good dmt smoking technique and I get a really intense trip every time. Usually I try for around 50 mg in 2 tokes. Dmt is always intensely visual but I aim for reaching a state where I forget that I am even there. I remember one time I was in front of this pyramid structure with all sorts of writing on it that I just couldn't process. A lot of people talk about meeting entities but other than seeing what may have been an old man once, I have never interacted with any entities ( im sort of jealous of those who have I must admit lol)

The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers was actually published starting in May of 1968, usually in underground newspapers ...

But yes bongs were fashioned by individuals, few if any, were commercially available.

Sure, but who wants raw eggs?
At the risk of repeating something I have said in the past, I think it’s worthy to post it again based off of the anti-drug statement. This is your brain on drugs.

Grateful Dead concert 1985, Ventura fairgrounds, in the shakedown Street area where people were selling merchandise, someone was selling shirts. It had a picture of a slimy egg in a pan and said this is your brain. Then underneath it was a beautiful omelette, some toast, hash browns and a steaming cup of coffee and it said this is your brain on drugs.

I’m sure they’re still a lot of cleverness today but man was it fun back then. I like the era before cell phones.

Eh, carry on. I won’t post that one again :-)

Yep.

Then in the 70s there were "underground" comic books-- not technically underground, but hard to find. Only sold in head shops and progressive bookstores.

A few I remember we are Freak Brothers, Zap! Comics, Zippy the Pinhead, Wymyn's Comix, and Mr. Natural.
Zippy was my favorite.
