Questionable Reaction

Okay I have a question about test results. I performed the marquis test two times on the same pill. I can't get my phone connected to the computer so I can't post the pic of the results. The only thing I noticed that I have not noticed before was the pill scrapings turned white immediately after dropping the marquis reagent on it. But it then went very quickly to black. It wasn't the fastest reaction I have seen but it wasn't that slow either. Then with in 20 seconds the entire puddle was a dark purple. There were no orange streaks anywhere to be seen.

I don't know what it means when the pill reacts by turning white first. I performed a second test to look for smoke thinking that it might be DXM, but I saw no smoke. It was the scrapings them selves that turned white and that was all. There was no color change in the reagent except for where the reagent came into direct contact with the pill scrapings. This white reaction was for a spilt second then it started turning black. After swirling the reagent the entire puddle was a dark purple.

Does anyone have any ideas about this?

That is very strange, rollz. What color was the pill?

I see that phase_dancer (our much loved reagent guru!) has been around lately, hopefully they will see this question and be able to help you. :)
