Hello everyone. This is my first post here on Bluelight (what a great resource by the way) and I've got a quick personalized, specific question regarding diazepam usage.
Up until recently I have been a heavy marijuana user (smoked on average an ounce of top shelf medical every month) and also a relatively heavy drinker.
I have since quit both cold turkey and things have gone quite well. I tend to suffer from anger problems, agitation, anxiety, and mild PTSD, so to help bridge the gap and help calm my nerves I managed to acquire 30 10 mg valiums.
I have used these before in the past (over a year ago) and found them quite effective, but has also managed to maintain discipline in dosing so addiction/withdrawal hasn't been a problem.
However, in the absence of Cannabis and alcohol, my diazepam usage has been a bit more frequent.
Over the last 10 days or so, this has roughly been my dosing schedule.
12/13: 10 mg
12/15: 40 mg over the course of 4 - 5 hours
12/17: 30 mg
12/18: 20 mg
12/19: 10 mg
12/20: 10 mg
12/21: 10 mg
12/23: 20 mg
It is now 12/24 and it has been about 24 hours since my last dosage. Currently, I would like to re-dose at 20 mg then take a break until next Saturday at the minimum.
My question is: is this dosing schedule enough to produce a dependency or withdrawal problem for the average person? I realizes my diazepam usage needs to be more infrequent, and plan to dose once a week or so at most following my next dosage, until I run out. At which point I will NOT be buying anymore.
If I consume 20 mg more right now, that will be 40 mg within a 24 hour period. If this is potentially a consistent enough schedule to produce withdrawal symptoms, should I taper down following this dose, or just immediately instate a once every 6-7 days dosing rule following my next dose?
I am highly concerned about becoming dependent on this substance and DO NOT want to create a heavy tolerance for myself or any withdrawal problems.
Am I at risk with the above schedule, followed by a 6 day break and a once-or-twice a week max dosing schedule until my supply runs out?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
