Benzos Question Regarding Valium Usage and Avoiding Addiction/Dependency/Withdrawal

Hello everyone. This is my first post here on Bluelight (what a great resource by the way) and I've got a quick personalized, specific question regarding diazepam usage.

Up until recently I have been a heavy marijuana user (smoked on average an ounce of top shelf medical every month) and also a relatively heavy drinker.

I have since quit both cold turkey and things have gone quite well. I tend to suffer from anger problems, agitation, anxiety, and mild PTSD, so to help bridge the gap and help calm my nerves I managed to acquire 30 10 mg valiums.

I have used these before in the past (over a year ago) and found them quite effective, but has also managed to maintain discipline in dosing so addiction/withdrawal hasn't been a problem.

However, in the absence of Cannabis and alcohol, my diazepam usage has been a bit more frequent.

Over the last 10 days or so, this has roughly been my dosing schedule.

12/13: 10 mg
12/15: 40 mg over the course of 4 - 5 hours
12/17: 30 mg
12/18: 20 mg
12/19: 10 mg
12/20: 10 mg
12/21: 10 mg
12/23: 20 mg

It is now 12/24 and it has been about 24 hours since my last dosage. Currently, I would like to re-dose at 20 mg then take a break until next Saturday at the minimum.

My question is: is this dosing schedule enough to produce a dependency or withdrawal problem for the average person? I realizes my diazepam usage needs to be more infrequent, and plan to dose once a week or so at most following my next dosage, until I run out. At which point I will NOT be buying anymore.

If I consume 20 mg more right now, that will be 40 mg within a 24 hour period. If this is potentially a consistent enough schedule to produce withdrawal symptoms, should I taper down following this dose, or just immediately instate a once every 6-7 days dosing rule following my next dose?

I am highly concerned about becoming dependent on this substance and DO NOT want to create a heavy tolerance for myself or any withdrawal problems.

Am I at risk with the above schedule, followed by a 6 day break and a once-or-twice a week max dosing schedule until my supply runs out?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Please remove SWIM from your post and replace it with "I".. we don't do that SWIM stuff here on BL.

Read the BLUA when you get a chance. Link below in my signature.

Have you ever been dependent on benzos before or would this be the first time you picked up a habit? Because in the beginning, it can take quite a while sometimes for somebody to develop a psychical addiction.. however, if you've already been down that road before it begins to happen much faster.

For the average person who has never been dependent on a benzo before.. 10 days usually isn't enough time to develop a psychical addiction.

i take valium. i dont see a point in redosing because you only get that peak plasma level effect "recreational/blissful" 2 hours roughly. i know bc i took 20 mg one day and 2 hours later took another 10mg and all it did was make me more lethargic and lazy. why didnt i experience the peak again, with longer lasting benzos do you have to double up or something? for me, once i dose valium, i found it less desirable the more you do, essentially wasting it. after the first 2 hours of valium wear off, its dull. but i would have rather taken more valium, if it would have gave me that 2 hour peak all over again, and then sleep afterwards. so i went with a 5mg dose of phenazepam instead. ( i know i know....i wont redose) if this doesnt do what i need it to, i have cannabis and 3 cans of beer in the fridge. been up for about 48 hours, dealing with alot of stress. phenazepam knocks me out better than etizolam. in fact, i can eat 3 etizolam, smoke cannabis with it(medical grade) and a 10mg norco vicodin, and still not be sleepy. the only pill that makes me tired as fuck is felxerill, which takes 2-3 hours to work.

And no, I've never been dependent on benzos. Have only taken them for brief periods of time on an as-needed basis. Lately, my dosing has been more frequent and more recreational and I know benzo dependence is a bastard so I want to avoid that at all costs.

I dosed 20 mg Dec. 25 and that was my last dosage.

Been experiencing frequent episodes of sleep paralysis, which I've read can be increased greatly by anxiolytic medications. Between that and my strong desire to avoid physical dependency I will probably not be dosing again for another 7 - 10 days, and keep it at once a week at most from there until I run out.

I have however, noticed little-to-no tolerance building up so that has me feeling comfortable that I've been dosing appropriately, although I realize I likely can't continue at this rate without developing a problem.

Only have 12 pills or so left anyway, and as I said previously, have no plans to acquire more once these are gone.
