so i was on klonopin for about a month only and onc emy supply ran out i wquit cold turkey the withdrawal was intense my limbs constanly felt heavy i didnt eat anything but lettuce for about a week sometime si would get random chest pains and tachychardia and felt some electric shocks on my body
but my question is if i happen to get back on benzos for some reason insonmnia/panick attacks will y tolerance be the same as it was before i started taking them or the same as it was when i quit taking them
like do the GABA receptors get damaged for good? like if u keep quitting benzos and getting back on them does the tolerance build up faster than for people that have not developed the addiction? does alcohol interact on this? do stimulants affect someone who is going through benzo w/d? thanks

Benzodiazepine tolerance can take a long time to go down; I've heard from several months to cases where it just never seems to get past a certain point.

I imagine that, like with opioids, tolerance does build up quicker again.

Alcohol interacts with all benzos in a very dangerous way, but alcohol *should* help with benzo withdrawals since they both act upon GABA.
On the tolerance subject, it depends on how long it's been since you took your last dose.
I personally find that benzo tolerance takes a VERY long time to go down, but just to be safe (if you do end up dosing a benzo), take half of what you normally did before and work your way up from there if you feel you can take more.
And no, stimulants have nothing to do with benzo addiction/tolerance/withdrawals.

Also, I repeat, DO NOT mix alcohol and benzos.

^ While alcohol can help a bit during benzodiazepine WD, it doesn't prevent seizures though due to a difference in mechanism of action.

I never said it prevented seizures, I just said it can somewhat help with the withdrawal symptoms.

gotcha well it's been like 2 weeks i was on klonopin for about a month i took like 1mg/3mg a day during a month sometime si abused it for rereationak purposes tho

and about mixing benzos with alcohol i wasnt planning on doing ive done it before but im aware of the risks also didnt enjoy it i got really drunk both times on like 3 glasses of wine.ive mixed benzos with weed tho really pleasant expierience

I know, it was more for the OP or anyone else in case they thought getting drunk will help prevent the worst symptoms of benzodiazepine WD.

If I recall wouldn't drinking technically put him at a higher risk of seizures considering alcohol also lowers the seizure threshold?
