Question regarding adderral and Standardized tests

I am not a regular adderal user but have, from time to time, taken it to help me study longer and be able to focus more clearly on otherwise boring reading material.
I am taking the Lsats on monday, a test that requires impeccable concentration and clear thought for 2.5 hours in order to produce a really, really good score.
I just took a practice test, having taken an adderral an hour previous to test administration. I did pretty well, but going over the questions I missed, it was clear that I may have actually gone too fast and was careless in my overall answer formulation.
So, my question is, would it be wise to take an adderall before the actual test? Do the benefits (increased reading speed, better stamina) outweigh the potential side effects (going *too* fast, potential carelessness)

Hmmm.
I have taken some tests on stimulants and done well but other times it has not gone as well...
I would say that if you have been studying all week on adderall, then you should take a bit (but only a bit!) about 2-3 hours before your test. Orally, of course. You should barely be able to feel it -- thus you won't be too fucked up, have too much confidence or go too fast.
If you've only been using adderall on and off, and you will be able to get a good night's sleep before the test, then I would say try and take it sober.
 
Well I seem to remember a study showing that statistically a small amount of amphetamine improved SAT scores. Now of course for some people it might lower them, however, knowing nothing else about you if pressed to make a guess I would guess it would help you. Especially if you don't let yourself race ahead.
I would particularly be concerned about pacing or performance not on adderall if you have never tried the test not on adderal.
If you have time of course try taking it without adderall and see what happens.
 
I would just try taking less... remember, yernot trying to get high, you just want that chemical focus!
Or, as travis said, take a test sober and see how you do...
Everyone reacts differntly - I took my SAT's while rolling and actually did rather well..
 
How the fuck did you focus. Or were rolls affecting you much at that point?

How the fuck did you focus. Or were rolls affecting you much at that point?I was rolling.. it wasn't that hard because the MDMA took away ALL the stress I would have otherwise had (at the time I had no benzos)... of course I had to read every question 2 or 3 times, but overal did good...

i used adderall for tests like my entire first semester of collage and felt like i was going to have a 4.0 or something, i mean i was so confident i didnt even bother to look what i had when given the oppurtunty......then winter break rolls around and i realize my theory was way way off.....i wouldnt advise uing it as an aid for any tests ever, crams sessions are the place i have found it useful in school......but thats just me, maybe it will help other people
 
Well, I bit the bullet today and downed a 10mg add 2 hours before the exam.
Holy shit did it ever backfire.
My sense of timing was way off, I panicked, I over-analyzed, I was paranoid about every answer...damn.
Probably didn't do as bad as I think, but i'm not happy at all and will be cancelling my test in the next day or so and re-taking in October.
I learned that it is one thing to mess around with a drug when you take a practice exam and there is relatively no pressure, but it can be a completely diff. story when you add the pressure element to it, at least in my case. A completely clear, drug-free head would have been much more beneficial.
Oh well, no one died, I still have my health, I can take the test again...live and learn!
