I experience a problem this year that I hope some other experienced growers can help me with.

I prefer to grow outdoors, but with it comes risks like other people finding your crop. This year I bought some Northern Lights seeds because they said they finish in mid September. I did this because here in MI deer season starts on Oct. 1st and many people are not in the woods until mid September to scope out their spots. Unfortunately the stuff that was supposed to be done sept 15th wasn't done until Oct 1st and of course much of it was found.

Can anyone near the 40th latitude or better yet in Michigan recommend a good strain that will finish by Sept 15th or even earlier. If it is done before then, I am certain none will be found because none was found this year until Sept 15th.

If you can recommend a strain that can be bought I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

Well you could use autoflowering plant's that flower to their age and not to the season, that would help you out big time. Apart from auto's, Indica's is what you should be growing for a shorter harvest, but because you started with the NL which is Indica dominant and she wasnt done in time, I would say auto's are your best bet.

Also in my experience growing outdoor's, some plant's will start to flower much sooner and later then other's. If your girls havnt started flowering by mid july(assuming there an 8 week flowerer) then there obviously going to still be flowering past mid sept.

Honestly if you find a spot that noone goes walking/hunting through you'll be much better off not having to worry about your plants finishing in time, and also getting found.

Did that to find the Northern Lights which said it would be done in mid Sept and they were wrong.

Can't anybody tell me a strain they have bought that finished by Sept 1st.

The area I grow really makes no difference because here in MI there is probably no where where people do not go.

Auto flowering plants aren't the answer either because you can't clone them which means you would have to buy many seed at a great cost and since the failure rate for plants growing to full maturity is high from rodent, deer and other things that them early.

Try the mega community growing thread, this is where you will get the most accurate and fastest responses from very experienced growers and MMJ patients.

Or strain discussion for specific strain questions.
