Question about taking oxycontin with time release intact?

Well my friend gets prescribed 20mg Oxycontins for pain issues. She has a small tolerance so it usually takes 20-30 mgs of oxy ir (taken orally) for her to feel good. Now, if she took 2 oxy 20's ER intact with the time release would it do any gooood? Lol.. I would it just be a waste with only pain relief?
