Opioids question about oxy withdrawals & dilaudid...

I'm new to this site so excuse me if i'm posting in the wrong section... the site happens to load very slowly for whatever reason, and this is where I ended up.

I have a long history with this drug, but every time I decide to do it, and quit it, I just go cold turkey, and don't want anything to do with it.

i don't use oxy very much, but i was doing about 120mgs a day for like a week straight(I smoked 30's), and i decided to stop- cold turkey, and well, while all the benzos i've been taking to sleep, it hasnt been so bad, (it's been a week so far) but ofc i feel a LOT better, i feel like in the next day or two i'll be back to normal.

I found myself a dilaudid. If I take this, will it completely throw me back into full fledged withdrawals?

I used to take DXM a lot back in the day, so I never really knew what withdrawals were. I quit DXM and now it's something I never imagined. haha.

Try Soma's, imo, they are great. Last year I use to pop Soma brand name muscle relaxants 2 or 3 a day but each one within 3 or 4 hours of each other & I enjoyed the buzz I got off them. For me it felt like a slight buzz of weed.

Sounds like you don't really want to quit if your considering taking a dilly-bar already...But yeah, if you really do want to quit, don't take any opiates now. You're already a week clean, you're doing great, just keep it up.

Your opiate receptors are starting to clear out and that just clogs em up again. Don't do it every time you relapse it's that much harder to get clean! You have started to recover from the pills dont release your addiction all over again! That's my suggestion although I would probably end up taking it like a dumb ass. Lol

I do want to take oxy every now and then. but not addictively. i normally can contain myself (a week is long as i'll go with realizing i'm addicted, and that doesnt happen very often) ... i find myself quite content with weed, but there's nothing better feeling than a nice oxy every now and then. its nice. lol.

I've never been really hardcore addicted (as in...nothing compared to some of you guys LOL) but back when I was going through w/d from 60mg/day of oxy I remember finding a lucky 10mg perc a couple days into my w/d...

Those 10mg's seemed to do more for me than I ever got out of 60mg's.

Of course, once it wore off it was back to square 1.

Do you guys really believe that there are different levels of addiction? I'm reading these comments, and I'm not sure what to think. "I've never been really hardcore addicted..." and "I do want to take oxy every now and then but not addictively."

It's not like you'll ever check into a rehab and have the doctor there ask you, "So how much addicted are you?" And then he'll pull out a chart with "purse-snatching, old-lady-robbing addicted" at the top and "I-still-have-a-job-and-friends addicted" at the bottom.

I don't mean this to sound condescending, but it's just curious. I mean, the very word addiction means to devote one's way of life to someone or something, like drugs, for example. So, if you're spending most of your time, money and energy on drugs, and if you're always thinking about drugs, when to get them, how to get them... then you're addicted, and beyond that, it's really just behavior.

In response to verso- i dont think there are different levels of addiction, just different means to accomodate a bigger addiction. for example someone who has a lot of money could be perceived to have a more "harcore" addiction because they can finance higher amounts, but then again someone who doesnt have money and steals/commits crime to support an addiction could also be perceived to have a more hardcore addiction. Addicted is addicted, no way around it, someone who says theyre only slightly addicted, yet wakes up and needs to take something (whether is a perc 5 or banging 32mg of dilaudid) its all the same.

as to the question at hand, it wont throw you back into full on withdrawals if you have withdrawn for a few days, but it will prolong the lingering, small effects. This is assuming you STOP after that "one little dilaudid" which to be honest is highly unlikely. Id toss it and stick with it. Coming from experience, theres nothing worse than feeling like crap for 4 days only to go right back to square one. might as well have been using the whole time rather than wasted 4 days bed ridden only to hop right back on board the opi train

please do not encourage IV use...as an IV drug user I try to SPARE people from the hell of being addicted to the needle.
as a matter of fact, the OP mentions nothing of IV use at all which makes this post all the more inappropriate.
